Bans over situations that were handled ICly

A while ago I got banned for killing a janitor that was purposefully watering up clean tiles just to slip people. It happened at the start of the round in full view of the RD which I told to clone the janitor since I had to leave and couldn't do it myself. I hid in a locker and went AFK. I came back 30 mins later, the janitor was cloned and I was arrested for murder. I was given a 3 minute timer. I then got bwoinked and then got a 24 hour ban. Is it really right to ban someone after everything has been handled ICly? (admin whose name I cannot remember) told me that he wouldn't have banned me if I delivered the corpse to cloning personally which doesn't really make sense to me, I knew that he would get cloned since the RD saw and a couple other scientists saw what happened and I even remember telling them to clone him but that may not be true.

Though I cannot speak for your specific issue regarding taking the body to cloning.

If you break rule 1 via killing someone for no reason (or for a terrible reason/no escalation), get arrested and put in brig for it. You still broke rule 1 and this will have OOC consequences whether it was dealt with ICly or not.
