Joking aside, that's... actually a bit of an iffy one, to be honest. On one hand, it is text speech, on the other it still leans in closer towards Kek and wew than stuff like lol. I guess I'm just gonna lean on "undecided" for the time being.

It's definitely OOC in IC, it's just the stupid furry meme (meant to look like an animal's face or something) transcribed into text.
You can say it outloud, yes, but you can say things like "lol" verbally, too. It doesn't make it less OOC. I'm going to start punishing for it when I see it.

I'm nearly 100% sure I've warned people for kek as that is literally just lol. Wew I let pass since every admin was letting it pass, but it shouldn't be allowed either.

Pretty clear OOC in IC in my opinion, owo and uwu are clearly emoticons. I don't use acronyms like 'lol' or 'lmao' in character but I've used 'wew' plenty of times reasoning that it's pretty phonetic. If you're going to start hard enforcing this across the board you might want to remind people which (if any) are okay for our minimum standard.

Remember when admins said that mentioning "game" "players" "rounds" was immersion breaking but then everyone started to call each other "gamer" and they can't do anything because it's a pop culture reference? Same thing here.

I already advocated to make the ban and notes list public but it was shot down multiple times.

Honestly, punishing people for stuff like this due to 'OOC in IC' really is quite silly and seems like 'I have to much time on my hands, time to nitpick'.

Considering there are a LOT of people(especially in the age group which grew up with technology), which would verbally say stuff like LOL, Owo, Uwu, Kek, Wew Lad, etc. in real life.

And let's face it, the game takes place 500 years in the future. If you think our generation is toxic with netspeak in real life, how do you think the average spessmen in 500 years would act? Things like 'lol' may very well be common vocabulary by that point in time.

I mean, there are so, so, so many things people say in real life which is worse than that. Heck, it doesn't even come up on the scale of being bad unless someone wishes to be salty.

Now, of course, if you wish to regulate speech for silly and harmless things like this which people do say in real life. Then it would only be fair to also ban people for saying hate/bigoted speech in IC. Such as 'Nigger', 'Fag', 'Dirty Jew', etc.

Netspeak is common among youngsters in real life, this is true. However, I think we still have to go a long way before literal emoticons become common in spoken language, and OwO is an emoticon. The only emoticon I've ever heard IRL was "<3" spelt as "less-than-three"
