Extent of admin complaints forum

Right now, the admin complaints forum is limited to in game conduct, and does not handle things from outside of that.

However, in modern tg, admins have a far greater range of responsibilities, from forum moderation, to discord moderation.

In light of that, I believe it would be a good, transparent move to make admin complaints extended to allow complaints about forum and discord moderation.

Note: I am not suggesting that complaints be allowed about admin posts/comments in these places, just if they use moderation powers to kick/delete/ban people, those be complainable about.

Why: It's important to ensure our use of administrative powers is transparent, and subjected to oversight. Part of that is resolving complaints in a semi-public fashion (semi public as not everyone can post about it).
This is a good way for people to see that the admins do indeed police what is acceptable and not acceptable when using forum and discord.

FNR admin complaints is a pre-existing forum, setup to allow proper moderation and with a good set of rules/guidelines and to me, seems a perfect fit.

This should only apply to powers though, I don't want people making complaints because they are offended because I posted a meme on discord.

If you post racist memes, you deserve the complaint as admins are representatives of the community.

too bad, those are actionable.

maybe we'll tell you to stop. maybe we won't so we can instead punish you later.

I makes sense to have a place to lodge a complaint if some admin is kicking people they shouldn't. Presumably it would mirror the way players can appeal discord bans in the appeal forum.

yeah this is pretty ironic considering headadmins have taken into account what people have said on discord.

Anyway that's what I said in my post

I honestly thought I changed this during my term.

It should be changed to include things other than just in game. We are admins of a community not just a game. L

It was said that it would be changed after the Ausops abuse scandal then never happened.

I've always wanted this. If an admin has powers somewhere, it should be an area under the jurisdiction of admin complaints, if only for the purposes of transparency. I was never a fan of seeing a possibly legit complaint flooded with "THIS BOARD IS FOR SPECIFIC INCIDENCES OF IN-GAME ADMIN ABUSE." instead of saying why it was or wasn't abuse.

that but unironically, really good idea

I'd argue to include forum mods who aren't server admins and maintainer complaints in case of power abuse but i guess separation memes

I'd only really oppose this if it included non-moderation powers (e.g. admin called me a dumbass in the general chat for complaining about dying)

Yeah make a subforum called “OOC Activity Complaints” or something so that people who feel wronged on discord or the forums can say their piece officially

This should be a thing and I'm surprised that it isn't yet.

Nothing is going to happen until after the elections. I hope the new headmin team take this idea seriously and make it one of their first considerations.

We discussed this pre-election and more or less came to a conclusion, but the overriding feeling at the moment is that it'd be improper rule on something, that changes a fundamental aspect of the administration team, during the election period.

We'll be discussing this with the incoming headmins, whomsoever they might be, and will most likely give a definitive answer before handover.

The admin complaints forum has now been expanded to accommodate a wider range of abuse. To that end I am resolving this thread. For more information please see https://tgstation13.org/phpBB/viewtopic ... 41&t=22277
