Are you interested in actually giving real reasons you think the map should be removed from rotation or is this a shitpost?

The overall design of it is bad and I don’t think any changes can fix it. The main problem I have with it is the fact that there is just one direction to go in. Imagine if you took the circle and pulled it into a line. The entire station would just be a straight line with departments above and below it. Let’s say you arrive on the station. You can go left or right. Those will be your choices for where to move to for the entire round. There’s dorms but that’s the only deviation on the whole station. Maint is poorly designed and is also just a bunch of straight lines. There is like a single abandoned room in maint, and then for some reason you have things like escape pods and the gateway and disposals locked away in maint. Speaking of disposals, last time I played it if you got tossed down disposals with no access out you had to just sit there and wait for someone to come get you because it doesn’t stop in cargo first like every other map.

So to sum it up - awful hallway design, awful maint design, rooms stuffed into maint for no reason. All of this combined resulted in a bad station that few people like and is immediately met with complaints whenever the round begins.

Donutstation is the admin equivalent of buying Hi, Daniel

I actually dont mind donut now that is running the SM and not the singularity. That was my only issue with it.

The only thing fundamentally wrong with donut is that circle hallways are weird on a square grid.

I probably woudn't of remade the map if /tg/ didn't support diagonal movement for that reason, since otherwise moving around the hall would of been way too clunky. The circular design does lead to some weird layouts on a square grid but I figured it'd also bring an interesting change of pace to current maps which are mostly just an assortment of squares.

Exploding the supermatter in any decent way still obliterates the entire station.

Maint is still kind of bad and confusing. I often get lost in maint and doors out of it feel rare. On top of that, rooms feel rare and it's mostly one-wide outcroppings with nothing interesting. Are there even fire closets in maint?

There's some other quirky stuff like the vault having turrets and vital loot (AI cards) for no particular reason and the AI sat being bad in general.

There's also a feedback thread but.... The SM still destroying the station being pretty much a given is one of the main good reasons to remove it.

Some of my favourite memories of old donutstation is trying to contain fires from the giant thermal engine we used to run back then.

Not saying that that the whole station being destroyed by the SM is a good thing. A thermal engine leak was easier to contain than an SM explosion...

Engine delamination is usually a shuttle call anyway so I don't see the issue with it exploding actually being a threat to more than just the Engineering department.

I will look into the AI sat though, not a fan of it myself anyway.

Maybe we need the engine ejection system again...

>Exploding the giant bomb destroys the station

Yes it will do that on every map

>Maint is confusing
This is true of any new map you have to learn the layout of

>you only have one direction
?How is this a complaint

There's nothing here even remotely actionable

why is this not closed?

If you can't even be arsed to come up with examples as to why you dislike it then I don't see why this thread even needs to be entertained.
