Wizard has been a controversial antag for years. Somehow it became a mere murderbone role, and a lot of people feel hatred towards magic in general, since SS13 is a Sci fi game.
What do you think? Should it stay, be disabled, removed, or something completely different?

wizards are an iconic part of ss13 to me and i would be incredibly sad to see them go

that said i do believe they need balance work in their current state to try and encourage more gimmicky spells and disincentivize taking the Optimal Murderboner Wizard Setup every round

i honestly think it could be done with changes to spell costs and being able to purchase the same spell multiple times for upgrades but idk where to go to start throwing out ideas for it

Wizards is a bad mode where a small handful of players get to have absolute power while the rest die instantly. Its a single antag so you either go murderbone or ABSOLUTELY NOTHING HAPPENS. The crew is incentized to murder the wizard no matter what due to them being rewarded with not having to play a wizard round anymore

Irrelevant to this thread. This thread is about removing Wizards entirely, not the Wizard gamemode. That gamemode sucks, yes, remove that.
Wizard should be reworked into something more balanced, flexible and interesting. Don't be around going "remove this, remove that", give coders something to work on rather than the easiest zero effort alternative.

Alternatively take the 18th thread (<-- this is hyperbole) without a wizard disable as something of a hint and either wait for elections or come up with a proposal that's substantially different.
