No notice given on Pet murders making people valid for kills

I murdered a guy for killing my cat while he was greytribing and got a 24hr ban because I didn't know the rules were changed. Why are there no announcements about this shit?

Give some god damn notice on Policy Changes. Yeah the change to random searches was given notice but not other rules that have been set in stone for years.

The pet killer policy was supposed to have been completely removed months ago. HG has corrected the error in the policy page and removed the line OP mentioned.

Killing pets no longer make you a valid target for execution by anyone, but you can still get brigged/robusted/any of the other unfavourate IC punishments

this is really, really, really, really, really, really dumb
killing pets is a massive rule 1 violation but its nothing to ban over
thus people who do it deserve what comes to them

I was told by some people that the owner of the pet can still do what they want, but no one else aside from the pet own can use it as a excuse to "get their valid on".
