It makes little sense to me if we're not going to apply this to Traitor positions as well, which are also very important to the flow of the round (arguably more so, depending on who is arguing) and also limited in number.
Locking yourself in a dorm all round is equateable to going braindead.

So sure, an antag ban in this situation is logical.

That being said, do we really want our servers to be a place where people go just to internet-fuck each other? Just ban erp outright.

We ban heads who ghost/go afk. We don't ban heads who fuck off, and if we did (or do and I'm just not aware of it), where is the line? It's pretty much impossible to draw that line and I don't believe it should be drawn.

I dare anyone who supports these bans to draw the said line. Which situations require ban and which do not and why?

Also, many people have said that inaction is not actually an issue, but ERP is. I also dare you to explain how is it different.

Those that cause issues require administrative attention. Those that do not, do not.
Also, the fundamental nature of SS13 administration is that there CANNOT be a clear line. The vast majority of situations are far too complex for a clear black/white policy to work.

If it's obvious that all they ever do on this server is spend every round co-writing smut with random people in the dorms? Sure, ban them. It's obvious that they're not here to play the game and be a meaningful part of the community. The same applies for any other kind of griefer, and we shouldn't have to make special rules just because ERP is involved.

People have, are, and will continue to get their rocks off to pretty damn near anything. So long as they're not bothering anyone in the process (which is the case in the situations discussed, admittedly, but not the case for every single instance), why give a shit? Compared to some of the things out there, doing it in 2D spacemans is comparatively tame. (And one could easily argue that trying to pretend to be special snowflake people in 2D spacemans AKA roleplaying at all is equally silly.) Everytime I see someone decrying ERP in a manner like this I can't help but picture a typical christian soccer mom that gets upset as soon as someone bares their midriff in public.

You want to stop ERP from being a problem? Stop paying attention to it. It wouldn't surprise me if the people being talked about are doing it for the sole reason that it pisses people off. If it pisses off ghosts in deadchat because they can't avoid hearing it, just implement a selective mute for ghosts (which would also help for the dozen monkeyhumans with tourettes in genetics, the clown who is repeatedly screaming HONK HONK HONK HONK HONK over the radio, or the seven cultists trying to summon Nar'Sie.)

Actually Dawgas and Fuzzle were just a catalyst to the whole thing, I've seen people before way way over do it on ERP on /tg/. It's like there's a fucking culture for it. Since this thread is basically just vomit now. I'm locking it, any objections to the lock can PM me.
