Policy on hotel staff.

so a few rounds ago i was a hotel staff member and went to the station quickly to say ";i hotel is open!", hack the airlock and set up the teleporter. i asked a admin and they said hotel staff should not go to the station, just wondering, what is the current policy? thanks.

You are hotel staff. You must not exit the hotel except under extraordinary circumstances that require you to.

You must not use information from previous lives or as a ghost to gain advantage. This essentially means of a traitor teleports to the hotel, you can't arrest them just for being in the hotel. Or if a bomb's signal is 144.1:25, you are not allowed to spawn and detonate it.

Your role (if you choose it) is to play as a staff member of a hotel.
You are not an antag; Do not grief others just for being in the hotel.

This is a dead chat role. It is a privilege not a right.
And most importantly; only play the job if you are willing to go through. Don't waste slots that others could take.

Last time I played hotel memes there was a ridonkulously huge "DON'T go to the station" message on spawn that IIRC also explained the other role-specific rules in relatively simple terms.
This is an RP job, is all it is.

Just ask an admin if it's okay to pop in and advertise next time. I don't see how it's harmful to do so, but always try and get permission first if you want to bend the rules.

I usually valid hotel sec officers if they come onstation. And take the energy shotgun, those things are awesome.

I've seen hotel staff on mining, with drake armor and a staff of lava.

Armhulen's suggestion would be for the best.

They actually already exist i think, they are called exile implants and they make you die when you come back to the station Z. Maybe add a note to the hotel desk talking about a new management initiative to attempt to reduce staff members leaving their posts

Actually, the exile implants only blocked you from using the gateway while on an away mission, preventing your return to the station. They didn't serve to kill anyone, and have no effect on teleporters whatsoever.
