Here's what happened:
Note: I was playing Curator. There was a mime in the library who refused to leave. Seeing as how the mime was equipped with insulated gloves along with other tools, I assumed they were there to steal. I was correct on this assumption because they ended up stealing the Codex Gigas. The mime hopped behind the counter and began pointing towards the Library Backroom (Gigas location). I did not want to let them in considering I don't want the risk of the Codex Gigas getting into the wrong hands. I asked the mime to leave countless times by saying, "get out", and "get the f*ck out". After they refused to leave, I felt I had to remove them forcefully. Not by murder or putting them in critical condition by any means, just by shoving them to the ground and dragging them out of there. Acting on this thought, I hopped behind the counter and proceeded to shove the mime. Apon shoving them, they tried to disarm me and steal the whip I had in my other hand. I hit them with the whip once to see if I could knock them on the ground but then an actual fight broke out. The mime took out his welding tool and proceeded to attack me non-stop and I kept shoving them to the ground. NOT hitting them with the whip. After a minute of fighting, I was able to corner the clown and he kept attacking me with a lit welding tool, bringing my health down to red. At this moment, I felt that it was a fight or flight scenario and killed them before he could kill me. With this, I know that I could clone him right after and we would both still be alive, but I couldn't trust the same outcome if it worked out the other way (them killing me). I killed the mime, and took their expensive gloves because I figured they'd be useful to me (and I was still butthurt and felt like adding salt to the wound ngl). I was making my way with the mimes body towards medical to have them cloned, but then the body was pulled from me while I was messaging the admin...which the admin used against me later in the discussion, claiming it was a factor that resulted in my ban. The admin was confused and accused me of killing him for the sole purpose of stealing his gloves, and also believed that all he did and his only intent was to hang out behind the counter. Another note: the mime stole the Gigas because I accidentally opened the backroom door prior to the fight.
Here's why I think I should be unbanned:
My full side of the story was never listened to, and was shutdown by the admin saying that the logs only showed me telling the mime "once", then "hitting them non-stop". This is actually untrue and I can provide screenshots to prove my claims. Prior to this ban, I had received one for over-escalation which I will completely admit was my fault. This, however, was different. The mime had bad intent upon being there, was equipped with breaking-and-entering goodies, and tried to murder me with a welding tool. I gave the mime plenty of warning prior and tried to solve the issue in a non-lethal way, instead, the mime wanted to harm me and possibly steal all of my gear. This was a lengthy fight and NOT an act out of pure intolerance. From what the admin said, I "Killed the mime for climbing your table". That is not at all the full story nor is it close to what actually happened. The admin also claimed I had only warned him once, in which I sent a PM back showing the exact chat log on my side, showing different. My response was ignored, followed by constant barrating about me taking the gloves after I killed him and how it's bad to murder someone for climbing a table. Yeah, if I did murder a dude for climbing a table, I deserve to be banned. I can completely agree with that. However, that is so far from the truth that it makes me shocked that the admin didn't bother to actually take a good look at all of the logs. Like I said, I sent him a message showing chat logs that he didn't mention or bother to read. I cannot believe that this has happened, seriously. I just wanted him to leave without any harm but the other player refused to go without a huge fight. I ended up winning and he whines to the admin claiming that I killed him for no reason, when in fact, he tried to put me out of my misery himself.

I was fighting a mime. They had a mime outfit and a mime PDA. I wonder why he'd be banned for this considering it's been ruled by admins in the past people are free to defend their workplace from breaking and entering, theft and other unwanted activities. If he indeed did shove first after several warnings, wouldn't this situation fall under that ruling?

Also, I did not deliberately lie to the admin. I can see how the admin would think that, but for the last fucking time: I DID NOT KILL HIM FOR THE GLOVES!!! It makes no sense! As the Curator, I have access to Engineering. Why the hell would I do that when I can just go buy a pair myself? In my screenshots you can see me try to reason with the admin this way. That didn't work out either. Am I talking to brick walls? Does no one understand that I was trying to get this fucker out of my department and a fight ended up breaking out? Mime had climbed onto the table prior to any interaction. Sergei's first response was not to push the mime or speak to him, but hit him with the whip. The mime responded with shoves until Sergei had hit him a few times, where he responded with violence. Sergei did not tell the mime to leave until after he started attacking.
After the mime was put well into crit Sergei continued attacking until death.
I recall reading in policy that the library is a public area so you can't trespass on it, but I'm not sure how that applies to the Curator's counter. I'll edit this post with the policy if I can find it.
From the ahelp conversation it seems likely when Sergei said "I just wanted the gloves" he was referring to the fact he was taking item(s) off the body, not his reason for killing (I only wanted the gloves). I can't make sense of why he'd tell the mime in the moment to get out, and then give a really shitty lie before saying "he tried to kill me" immediately after. Doesn't look like a Rule 6 at all.

Even if Sergei is the instigator in the end, the mime responded with violence. Sergei even went to take the mime to medbay after killing him as instigators are expected to do.If a player wrongs you(theft, attacks, etc), you may retaliate. If you choose to retaliate with violence, you in turn have opened yourself up to violence. If you choose this route, do not expect admins to help you out if you die, even if you were not the original instigator. If you are concerned about being "kill baited" then consider calling security, using non lethal means to subdue your opponent, fleeing, or otherwise working things out (talking them down, getting your stolen items replaced, etc)
Unfortunately logs can't show what happened in the gaps between attacks, the player's movements etc. He may have used the whip tried to threaten the mime into leaving but the mime kept coming back. The question becomes whether climbing onto the Curator's desk and retaliating with violence are sufficient to negate the "kill them unprovoked" portion of instigation.You may instigate conflict with another player within reason (you can't completely destroy their department, kill them unprovoked, or otherwise take them out of the round for long periods of time) but they are entitled to respond with violence.

I will be upping this ban to a permaban because of the apparent Ban Evading and Multikeying done within 20 minutes of the ban being given.
Within the 20 minutes that the ban was placed, 3 new accounts joined the server, and tried to kill the original victim, the mime

I don't have any words...I have never made any other accounts. I will put that on my dead fucking relatives. Do you have a discord? This is my discord name: Blake#9390 . Dude what the fuck are you talking about? I have been waiting this whole time for the ban to get lifted. I never signed back on. I was banned, then I made an appeal and played on Fulpstation instead. Deadass
