CoconutWarrior97 - Optimumtact - Note Appeal
BYOND account: Optimumtact
Character name: Platos Syrup
Ban type: Note
Ban length: Permanent
Ban reason: boomer
Time ban was placed: 2019-11-12 07:39:20
Server you were playing on when banned: Sybil
Round ID in which ban was placed: 101235
Your side of the story: This note was placed upon my account in a round
Why you think you should be unbanned:
I cite ausops notes on appealing notes as exhibit a in my defence, https://tgstation13.org/phpBB/viewtopic ... 22#p347563.
If you turn your attention to rule 1 "The note is factually or materially incorrect".
Your honours, seeing as I was born after 1990, and the common accepted language definition boomer generation covers the period 1946-1964 (see exhibit A attached)
It cannot be then, that the note "boomer" can be factually or materially correct, as it would meet no good faith test of the assertion when presented to a common jury.
Your honours, the defence may argue that the concept of a "boomer" is more about the state of mind of a person, rather than their physical descriptor. As describing a player or community member who clings to the past, and who refuses change and or decries it as ruining /tg/.
Now, the prosecution accepts that this may be the case and that this is an accepted use of the term. However, I argue that this is a dangerous misrepresentation of the client who actively encourages, and embraces change and holds no stock in the past. I direct the honours attentions to exhibit B, the tgstation github, showing the clients attempts to modernise and improve the game, without concern for the past.
It's clear that the inaccurate detail of this note, substantially outweighs the admins declared writ to use notes as a holder for opinions as per Ausops notes on appealing notes, rule 1, subsection b. My client is not, and has never been a boomer, either physically, or metaphysically, and this note is a grave and hefty weight to carry, that must be redressed and set right.
I trust that the jury will consider these facts and declare that the prosecution has carried the day.
I rest my case.

As to comply with the specified generational protocol, the note should be changed to fit with the defendant's proper generational status of "Millenial".

Re: CoconutWarrior97 - Optimumtact - Note Appeal
I believe this note is accurate, considering you admitted to it yourself.
Additionally, you played a remix of the theme of a boomer game, DOOM, during a round on sybil. I offer this as a single example, but I have observed you playing boomer music over multiple rounds.
