Your side of the story: I was playing the round as normal when I asked the captain for a value-u-pak cartridge for my PDA. I'm not sure if this is the exact name but it is similar, it is basically the cartridge that allows you to send one message to all crew members simultaneously. I decided to send the SSeth copypasta, which other members had copypasted onto the server before (and so far I don't think had any repercussions for it). About 5 to 10 minutes later Bdudy sends me an admin message asking me to stop spamming. I tell him I will but I clarified that I only sent the ingame message through the aforementioned cartridge, which by itself has an anti-spam mechanic, so I didn't really spam at all. I said all of this respectfully and briefly, you can check the logs if you want. I briefly get up to go and get something to eat, when I get back I'm banned for "another instance of spam".
Why you think you should be unbanned: Honestly, I understand that the Sseth copypasta could be interpreted as OOC in IC and should you want me to stay banned for that, I completely understand. What I don't understand is why I keep getting banned over "spamming" when I haven't even spammed at all. Seriously, when is this going to stop? It feels like you guys have a huge bias against me based on my ban history as displayed here on the ban reason, seeing as how Bdudy seemed to have banned me with it as a huge factor, when the truth is that I never spammed at all. I used one ingame mechanic to send a message to all the crew members. Was it lengthy? Yes. But if it counts as spam then why is that feature even still in the game? I see librarians use it to send similarly lengthy news and stories to all crew members throughout the round and everybody is fine with it. The moment I use it to send ONE message I'm spamming? I just don't understand. I don't normally like to post unban appeals because I understand you guys run the show and if you decide to ban me there's usually not much I can put on a unban appeal that will get you to revert the ban, but jesus christ this is getting so out of hand that I just had to say something about it here. Can you please not judge me constantly due to my ban history and allow me to play without instantly banning me at the slightest excuse?
References of good conduct: I've always played exclusively on Terry and on Sybil, mostly on Terry though. I understand I got in a lot of trouble for posting the ASCII trollface but I've stopped doing it for a long time, check the timing on the bans to see this. Clearly when it comes to OOC I stopped doing it because I got OOC banned, but not when it comes to IC. The only times I did the trollface IC was when I used the PDA message-to-all-crew-members system detailed above, which also got me smitted instantly every time I did it despite admins telling the players in the OOC chat that it was allowed in PDA messages. Regardless I still get told to stop doing it because again I must be special, so I stop doing the trollface in PDA messages. Then a long time after that (again, check the logs if you must) I decided to do it twice (not in a row) at the end of the round, when the end-round grief was ongoing. I was promptly banned from doing any kinds of ASCII trollface wherever for three months. I haven't posted a single trollface ever since, nor have I spammed at all, despite what the ban reason here is claiming. I also haven't been banned for any other wrongdoings, the only thing that I might have indeed screwed up in doing was mixing the Sseth copypasta into the IC game, but that was only because it was an ongoing meme at the time. Either way this would be the only instance in which I'd agree I'd deserve a ban, but for spamming? I never spammed in that round at all, and the logs can confirm that as a crystal clear fact.
Anything else we should know: Like I said, I understand if you want to punish me for the OOC-in-IC, but banning me for "spamming" is just going too far. I used an ingame mechanic specifically designed for sending mass messages to the crew, this same mechanic having a cooldown system for effects of preventing spamming. I used the mechanic ONCE before I got messaged to "stop spamming", when I respectfully comply but clear up that I didn't really spam I get banned with not even a warning beforehand. Why even have this ingame mechanic if using it is insta bannable "spamming"? I obviously can't know what makes the staff team so eager to ban me at the slightest excuse but I'd clearly guess that it has to do with my ban history and it's getting ridiculous. When is this going to stop? I've already been banned from OOC, I've already been told not to post ASCII stuff in PDA messages (despite other players apparently doing it with no problem), now I can't even send one single message to the crew without it being labeled as spam? Hell, I'll stop doing that as well, but please stop jumping on me for past mistakes that were NOT repeated at the time of this ban.
Like I said, I don't usually post unban appeals because if you guys banned me there's not much I can do to change your mind, but call this venting or a rant on my part. You want to punish me for OOC-in-IC, go right ahead, but stop claiming I was "spamming" when I never did.

Hmm yes you're right, sorry I forgot about that. However I believed that when you warned me you did so because of the OOC-in-IC aspect and not so much the "spamming", especially because it was not through PDA but through the radio channel. If you were indeed warning me because it was "spam", well, I only did it once I believe so I really don't think I spammed it at all. Either way I stopped "spamming" it right then when you asked me to cut it out.

Hi there. Firstly, thank you for taking the time to appeal.

To clear up any confusion, sending large chunks of text to the entire crew via the PDA is indeed considered spamming. This was a copypasta which doubles as OOC in IC.

You have quite the extensive history with regards to this type of thing. Currently, you're under permanent OOC ban for spamming, and you've racked up about a combined dozen warnings and bans over the past few months. If you'd like to view any of these notes or bans, please go here.

As of now, I see no reason to lift this. Like I said in the ban reason, I advise you to stop as continued spam will likely lead to a permaban.

In either of the two cases displayed where I was warned I stopped doing the "spam" immediately, especially given the fact that I didn't know it was such a serious offense the case should've been given some more consideration before I got banned imo. Also, telling me something along the lines of "Sorry but I can't let this slide" or even a "Look I'm going to ban you for this" before actually banning me would go a long way I think, especially considering how I was nothing but respectful to the both of you. But like I said I get it, there's not much to do when you set your minds on banning someone, so I'll just accept it and just wait it out. I won't "spam" again in the future, but the opinions in my venting/rant remain; I truly do not believe I spammed and do think it was unfair to ban me on such premises.

Then I see an issue here, and the solution stands to benefit us all.
Please stop incessantly sending large, disruptive blocks of texts to other players - copypastas, ASCII art, and so on. If you see other players spam, ahelping it is always an option.

The reason we're here is because consideration was given, particularly to your history with spam. As I said in my first reply, you're currently under a permanent OOC ban with countless other warnings and bans relating to spam. This looked like yet another occurrence of spam.

I understand. I apologize, the round in which this ban was placed was quite messy. I was checking a few other things out, and thought our brief conversation was enough.

But like I said I get it, there's not much to do when you set your minds on banning someone, so I'll just accept it and just wait it out. I won't "spam" again in the future, but the opinions in my venting/rant remain; I truly do not believe I spammed and do think it was unfair to ban me on such premises.
