Character name: Jack Anton
Ban type: Server ban
Ban length: 1 day
Ban reason: As the HOS executed the captain when they got out of perma, the captain was permad for killing another person who was believed to be a traitor. This situation had a lot of miscommunication and while I am aware of that fact you do have a history of situations in which you use excessive force and act in poor judgement. Please do make a effort in the future to reduce this sort of behavior as it will lead to much stricter punishments in the future.
b]Time ban was placed:[/b] 5:25
Server you were playing on when banned: Manuel
Round ID in which ban was placed: 181655
Your side of the story: I was approached by the Captain, the CMO, and a assistant. Jerry Notagen said that the captain had murdered him without cause, the CMO seemed to not be too helpful and the captain was a uncommon speaker. Vex Licht stood by the man who was killed on radio and said captain was at fault, and after interrogating him with a translator a scientist made from circuits, I demoted him, and perma brigged him for his crime. Later, a vortex breaks the front of brig and leaves it in disrepair. I suddenly hear captain on radio and see him with his clothing near his office. I proceeded to kill him for breaking out somehow, unaware of how he did get out. I attempted to use a stun baton to stun but it lacked battery so I beat him to death with it. The detective shot me , seeing I did this, and I proceeded to explain what he had done. Understanding, the detective did not further attempt to arrest or kill me, seeing as I was only stopping him from escaping and getting his ID, that would likely lead to him retaliating against me, something he clearly planned on, as he said "Your fired" with the translator.
Why you think you should be unbanned: while I could never directly find evidence, I had suspected the captain might be telling the truth, but with nothing to prove it and several people saying he was a murdering killer, I had to perma him. As it turns out, he was attacked in his office , but with all the items that were used found on other people, the captain speaking mandarin symbols in announcements, and lack of evidence, I had to release the person who did it. A good many people vouched for Chuck Bicar, and evidence to prove he commited the crime was hidden without trace, or found on people uninvolved with the crime. Saying this is a case of "miscommunication" is deceptive because not only was this not a case of people in sec getting it wrong, it was people both saying false things not knowing the context and people who actively sought to frame the captain. You even acknowledge the fact I didn't have correct information and worked on what I had. You then directly point at my note history. Rather then punish me based on wrongdoing, I am being punished for having notes. Not even to argue with the validity of the other bans, Ze Doctor, in the ahelp ticket, said "I am not blaming you, but your actions". This wording is not good. This is him either saying something along the lines of " This is not malicious but you fucked up", meaning I am getting punished for shit I'd have no IC way to know was wrong, or him directly admitting to only really having the note history to ban me with in this situation. If I allow this ban to hold up, I will only end up in even more situations where I am held accountable not for my actions in game, and what I did or didn't do, but for having a bad history and ending in shit situations. I main HOS, so I am going to get in a lot of shit situations as a HOS's job is often confusing. Not to mention that the round started with only me as a HOS with zero officers. I really do not wish ill will toward Ze Doctor, but I absolutely do not think this is ban worthy. I will only be unfairly punished more then I already happen to be if I do not appeal this.
References of good conduct: I am a longtime player. Several previous notes also list me co-operating with admins. Several players can also attest that I put in great efforts not only into being a good HOS, but a good faith player who attempts to respect other people's rounds.
