I think that my actions in this shift are justifiable.
First off- the stage:
It was a greenshift with a grand total of 20 players. I was played as Cecilia Vujic, the Atmospheric Tech.
Secondly, I think that releasing the Supermatter as a singularity after an overwhelming yes vote is a true ss13 moment, and something that I wouldn't want to change. While I wouldn't want to see it every shift, a rare fun event that is from the crew (as in not admin started) is not a bad thing, and a fun and memorable shift for everyone involved. I spent time making this a memorable event- with a viewing chamber and the chef giving out ice cream and food to people observing the singularity. If I had to count, there were 6+ people around watching the supermatter and actively enjoying the shift.
Thirdly- I understand that not everyone consented to this event- but I would like to bring up a poll that Bmon created after said singlo, which ended with these results:
.
If I am being honest, this poll leaves a bad taste in my mouth- 14 people voted for the singularity I released. I feel like a 93% in favor of something is a pretty effective case that something was not an act of intentional griefing the crew- it turned a otherwise boring shift into something memorable for people, and most of the crew enjoyed it!
I do understand that in 99% of cases, releasing a round ending event is unacceptable as a non-antagonist, but I think that the combination of lowpop, overwhelming support, and a otherwise boring greenshift push this from a clear case of self-antagging to something that improved the shift and made it more interesting and entertaining for most of the crew.
