EDIT BY CITRUSGENDER (HEAD ADMIN):
I will note that this was never proven and the round oranges is referring to was looked at by me and the headmin team. oranges himself stated that there was not enough proof during that round and this has still not been proven

Made some dumb ruling about lings and silicons. The rules clearly state silicons have to witness me do a ling action for me to be considered a ling in the eyes of a silicon. However, Bebe seems to think that a crysosting only somewhat possibly related to me is considered 'witnessing a ling action'.

Even though the only reason the sting was linked to me was because I was fighting him later on, even though that still doesn't count because a silicon cannot witness a stinging, even though it takes a while before a sting actually deals damage so no they couldn't say I had stung him during the fight in which the borg flashed me and assisted in my death.

And this is all assuming you take a cryosting, which again you can't really 'witness', as an action in which a silicon can label you as a ling. A thing they can't at all reliably prove.

Then went on to change the story around for me in which the AI was always following me, health HUDs now tell you exactly what kind of damage is being done even when in a fight where they're taking brute as well as burn, despite saying they used a sleeper the first time, which they didnt until later, even though, in the absolute end, they still can't say it was me. I was told later the AI was totally always following me and using a health HUD, there was no one claiming lings at all before this, and I was far away from the chef when he ended up taking the damage because I was in the medbay at the time, but yeah, totally linked it to me. Then is confused when I don't appreciate the lack of integrity being shown.

Sorry for not making clear, but I was also confused before talking to both of them, but after talking to both borg and the AI, it seemed pretty obvious that you, the clown, was cryostinging people and stinging the cook was the final piece they needed to confirm it, even if they can't directly see the damage type, there is a think called "crew monitoring console" which let's them do so, and sleeper also let them see the damage. Burn isn't something that is normally taken out of nowhere, to be honest, I thought it could be a little powergaming of them, but as I said, you were too obvious.

I'm sorry you didn't feel satisfied with the solution, but from my point of view, there wasn't anything wrong with their assumption as cryosting may not see but they become more obvious the more time you use them, hope you understand it.

Uh... It... doesn't matter.... They have to witness me doing an action. It... doesn't matter if it's 'obvious' I'm a ling. They have to witness me doing something a ling can do.
https://puu.sh/A3Zdg/57540cf2f7.png
Says right here, in blatant text, they have to WITNESS A NON HUMAN ACTION. A cryosting is not something you can witness. You can't see it. No one can. Congrats on putting 2 and 2 together, but you didn't witness it.

You seem to be running on the assumption that I was just going from person to person cryostinging people and it doesn't make sense to say I was being obvious when I only stung two people and only one person ever said it was me. https://puu.sh/A3MH4/c478623d69.png
And based on this seem to think silicons can just make assumptions to call people lings which.... I don't think that's what that very clear line of text in policy says.

I'm sorry that part is hard to understand I guess but it's in the rules. They have to witness me doing something only a ling can do.

Also you're talking about crew monitoring consoles now when you said they were using a HUD and all that which... Again doesn't matter. You're misinterpreting what's going on here. It doesn't matter that they're taking damage, even though they were taking brute damage as well and you were talking about sleepers and all that which... Seems like something the silicons would have said they used. You have to prove it was me. Which a silicon cannot do, since it has to see me shapeshift or do something only a ling can do. Which it can't. You also can't prove it was even me who did it considering, you know, I only cryostung him and the det and wasn't running around cryostinging everyone. The det never mentioned me cryostinging him. The only reason they screamed it was me was because we were fighting. Which, again, you can't discern from a glance if the damage is brute or burn, and it takes a while to activate so no, you can't think it was me easily. And I doubt they were using the crew monitoring console since they apparently never told you they were using it because you were questioning them about it and probably would've mentioned it like you were mentioning health HUD. Seems like you're just kind of justifying it after the fact. I wasn't running around cryostinging everyone so I don't see how it's so just obvious. It was the fight that got people on his side.

You seemed to imply/blatantly say that you were watching them watch me. Which means the AI saw me get attacked by the Chef without saying a word for no reason. Not in self defense, no, the chef just followed me to sci, pushed me, and attacked me, when I cryostung him and ran to medbay.

I'm sorry that I was expecting the borgs to follow the rules since they absolutely didn't have the knowledge necessary to have me marked as a ling. Game isn't easy when people don't play by the rules, turns out.

And if linking cryostings vaguely to people counts as '''WITNESSING''' it seems like that should be made a bit more clear because none of the examples are anywhere near a cryosting. The others are blatant, visible alterations to your character that anyone can see at a glance. (Proboscis aside, but that has a text notification.)

As I said, I myself was confused from the start (when I just talked to the borg, before talking to the AI), and I also had my doubts if cryosting was really considered something as a cryosting can be considered as a crucial fact to define someone as a ling, to a human of course, but to AI/borgs it made me think a little. I even asked other admins about it. But the keyword here is "WITNESS", witnessing means to see, hear, or know by personal presence and perception, that's what kept confusing me about this whole situation. Unless they actually define witnessing as just "seeing", I would happily investigate the case once again and be sure to note/warn both the borg and AI about it, but as of now, I still don't see a problem with the way they got in that conclussion. If you still have any questions, feel free to ask, I would gladly answer them and learn with them.

Witness doesn't... mean that at all.
https://en.oxforddictionaries.com/definition/witness
1See (an event, typically a crime or accident) happen.

Now, there are other definitions in oxford or even merriam that may help but I'm gonna take a guess and assume they mean as a verb.

They didn't see me do it, because they can't see me do it. And the only evidence they had was someone taking burn damage and saying I stung them when I was no where near them.

Still doesn't really prove it was actually specifically me.

Also I doubt it's any of that since it'd mean anyone saying 'blank is a ling ive been cryostung' means they're a ling to silicons.

So.. yeah, there's that.

But alright then I guess the rules page sucks and needs updating.

Applied policy for this sort of thing is generally that the AI and borgs are not required to play stupid. If they, through reason and evidence can deduce that you are a changeling, they can act accordingly.

If the evidence was so ambiguous, why were the silicons correct about your lingness?

As trigger happy as they can get with midis, and I agree they should try to make less, BebeYoshi is a goodmin.
They try to make rounds fun without affecting them too much, which is something I appreciate when I'm playing a slow round. Good as a player, so I respect their judgement regarding rules in grey areas, such as escalation.
