Got in two months ago as a trialadmin.

Promote, extend trial, or deadmin?

I'll start off by saying that me and ice are usually the only admins on, and i think icepacks is quiet but good, he does his job when no other admins are on. Sadly, he deadmins way too often leaving all the work to ME.

As an admin with my few interactions with him he seemed very good, much more concerned with making sure everyone is having fun than dishing out bans. A little excessive on the round end shittery and refused to bwoink me so I could tell him to fuck off after the memes started. Haven't seen him on often, don't know if this is because hes a sybil admin and I'm a basil player but if not very scarcely saw him on. Vote to promote overall though cause the greytide need more representation in admin affairs and inactivity shouldn't have too too much bearing on whether an admin is good enough to be fullmin and he seems to really get what makes the game fun, while also understanding what he has to do to maintain the fun.

Extremely hypocritical and biased. I've had interactions with him that made me feel like I was treating with some kind of apologist rather than an administrator.

Also tends to have the shitty habit of locking down OOC to share Snapple Cap tier "wisdom."

Then what's the minimum amount someone should interact to see something's wrong? At what arbitrary number of interactions do we draw the "yeah your opinion is valid" or "yeah that complaint or observation is valid?"

Icepacks is one of the most immature and childish people I've had the misfortune of dealing with in adminbus. I was already concerned when I heard that one of the server's serial shitty players was being candidated, and that was only reinforced by every interaction I've had with them, admin or otherwise. Here's just one anecdote to illustrate my point:

Me and another admin are talking in #adminbus about some potential Silicon overhauls to reduce the issues with them. It's a pleasant and productive conversation. Packs joins, and *immediately* starts talking over us, trying to tell us how fixes aren't going to work and they need to be removed etc etc. Me and the other admin try to have a reasonable conversation with him at first, but it's clear that he has no interest in actually talking about, he just wants to rant. After a good while, we realize we aren't going to be able to actually converse with this manchild, so we drop it. For the next *half an hour* (and I'm not kidding, this went on for more than 30 minutes with little-no response from us), Packs tries to antagonize us, trying to start a fight with "JUST PROVE ME WRONG" "JUST GIVE ME ONE GOOD REASON", over and OVER, despite us telling him we're not interested in talking about it further.

Someone who is a serial rule-breaker and line-toer should not be made an admin, especially not someone with the maturity level of a fucking middle-schooler. If you can't be trusted to follow the rules, how can you be trusted to enforce them? Not to mention it's impossible to talk to him even as another admin, so I really feel for any poor player who catches his ire while he's adminning.

EDIT: I will say that, on the positive side, he's active and asks lots of questions in adminbus regarding how to deal with issues. If he could grow up a little I would reconsider my position.

He's seen every fucking thing.

If he tells you that something won't work, there's a 99.9% chance he's fucking right. Out of anyone here he is the most knowledgeable person next to fucking exadv1 or whatever the fuck that fuckheads name is.

To be quite honest,
I think SK's post is absurd
You can't "talk over" someone in an IRC, and it seems like he was just trying to be part of the conversation (if you wanted it to be some sort of private discourse, you should have conducted it privately)
You might be pushing the envelope of what exactly is enough to remove an admin with some of this stuff

First of all, that was only one example out of many. You weren't there, so I don't know really know how you're in any place to call my opinion absurd. Maybe I should explain it differently, then. Have you ever had a conversation with someone where they don't acknowledge anything you say and instead insist on jamming their words down your throat? Where you can literally answer a question they're asking and they continue to attack you? It's that. It wasn't a private conversation, and you should know that I really enjoy talking about Silicons, so I'm always open to other people sharing their thoughts. I'm not open to someone coming in and trying to take over a discussion that's already happening until everyone else is so tired of dealing with it that they just leave. There's another player who I'll leave unnamed who does that. They didn't make it as an admin either.

If you think that being opposed to asking for a semblance of maturity and for someone to not consistently bend/break the rules is "pushing the envelope", then I don't know what to tell you.

to actually post feedback in the review thread: I haven't personally noticed any issues with IcePacks but I also haven't been on as often as some people in the thread have. I probably have among the lowest tolerance of anyone here for immaturity from admins but I haven't seen it

You came into a reasonable discussion and we tried to talk to you (and I'll mention for everyone's sake that we were absolutely pleasant and cordial with you) for almost 20 minutes before we gave up, after which you hounded us constantly. I don't even know how to respond to this because it's so off-base. Do you not remember us trying to talk to you? Do you not remember us trying to have a discussion with you before we realize you were just talking past us and ignoring us when we responded?

You're right, it was a single argument months ago. But it was just one example. Do you want me to give you more? The fact that you're still acting like an asshole even months from now, again, proves to me that you haven't changed. And my opinion of you still stands.

This is your feedback thread where we decide whether you get promoted, extended or removed. It's my job to post my opinions on you in here, not some personal vendetta to get you deadminned. I think you're combative, arrogant and childish, and I think you'd make an extremely poor admin. So yeah, I'm going to make sure I voice those concerns here because I want everyone on the server to have a good time, and not have to deal with you in a position of power.
