Trialmin Review: Coiax

Post by MrStonedOne » #477052

Coiax has now been in the .txt as a Trial Admin for roughly two months.

Please use this thread as public review; it's encouraged for players to comment on how well/badly the trial admin has done and whether or not they think the trial admin should be made a full admin, if they should be removed from the .txt or if their promotion should be delayed.

My recent gaining of employment has coincided with a low level of tgstation13 interest. Based on prior patterns, eventually that interest will rise again, and I'll be more active, it's happened at least twice before.

I understand 100% if I haven't been active enough to transition from trial to full, and am happy with any resolution to this discussion.

They were super active on bagil for a good period of time, dropped off a little probably due to the job.

Pretty fun, abuses the power of democracy, in general pretty good admin.

he hasn't been on in recent time but while he was active, he was /very/ active and was a funmin. Quick to respond to ahelps, and frequently added to rounds generally for the better. It'd be a waste of good admin talent to have him fail the trial due to relatively brief inactivity.

Saying "THAT'S A FALLACY!!!!!!!!!!" isn't an argument.

Coiax had over 3x your trial's connections during his trial and he'd do better than you in pretty much any other metric too. There's nothing wrong with taking a break and it's not a reason to deadmin him or extend his trial when he's already proven himself to be a pretty good admin.

By pretty much any "trialmin activity metric" coiax is decidedly average or above average.

He's a good admin. We should promote him or at least extend his trial period.

In my experience, does not do a sufficient job in investigating and leads to falling for banbait.
Is also biased towards his own political opinions.
Really needs to read Siege by James Mason.

Could you expand on the situation that happened that made you think this? It's helpful to include a specific example if you remember one.

Coiax has given me 2 bans when I have done bad things.

I found that the duration of both bans are fair and the incidents were handled professionally.

I have not seen him on recently, but earlier than that he was on almost every time I used adminwho.

+1
I did big goof and thank Dinkle for his mercy in only giving me a 1 day ban for this incident.

Coiax is cool and I remember him being trialadminned in the past, and although his inactivity is unfortunate I've gone through multiple longer periods of inactivity so he's fine

Coiax has done well as an admin so far, however he has had a successful complaint levied against him (albeit early in his trial), and his activity has seen a steep decline in recent time.
The drop in activity is perfectly understandable for the reasons he stated in this thread, however:
• We'd like to see more of his administration while he's more active.
• We want to be sure that the behavior from the complaint won't be repeated.

For these reasons, we're extending his trial by an additional month, to be reviewed again on March 28th. I look forward to seeing more of Coiax, and if activity is still a problem due to real life, we'll be able to work something about.
