Here's an update to naming policy,

An individual may have one additive to their name, either a nickname, a single prefix, or a single suffix. These additives are subject to the same rules as first names and last names and should not be excessively OOC.

Acceptable Names:
Dr. James Williams
James Williams Jr.
James "One-Eye" Williams

Unacceptable Names:
Dr. James Williams Jr.
Dr. James "One-Eye" Williams
James "One-Eye" Williams Jr.

Feel free to discuss or ask questions here.

My coworkers totally call me 'Starseeker' on the regular. They're like, totally all "What's up Starseeker?"
In all seriousness, I usually just end up giving actual nicknames to people with dumb nicknames printed on their ID card. You want to be called Diana 'Ninja' Takimatsu? How about I call you 'weeb' instead?

But first we need to talk about Parallel universes.

I personally do like this naming policy add-on. Helps with name believability when it comes to people who just want to slap every additive then can squeeze onto their name.

It would be interesting to add something to handle prefixes, nicknames and suffixes and have them assigned or overridden based on job selection.

If it's before your name, it's a prefix.
If it's between your first and last name and in quotations, it's a nickname.
If it's before your name and in quotes, then it's neither, and not allowed under this policy.

TGMC has ranks based on job and playtime. The job determines the range of ranks and the playtime the specific rank. Could easily be ported, someone would just need to figure out a bunch of titles for the jobs, the playtime component is probably irrelevant and unwanted here anyway.

I like being able to have have the chaplain's honorifics in your character name. Can a chaplain go by "Father Myles" or do they have to be "Father Myles Marriman"?

Are you telling me Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr is an invalid name?

Do you want me to invoke rule 11?

People just call him Martin Luther King anyway. I wouldn't think of the name that appears on your mob as your full legal name even if that is how it is displayed on medical and security records. It would be nice for snowflakes if the game differentiated so they could have all their titles on record but not spam chat with them any time they do something.

Does E.S. Clark or R.K. Wolfe violate the rules? and what are the rules on abbreviating names?
