the general SS13 subforum has significantly dropped in quality ever since the removal. Evidently, “just go to singulo” hasn’t gotten very far in that regard. Allow light moderation to address the issues previously raised regarding excessive toxicity from specific individuals. It would need little to no attention at all from forum moderators, only big drama brings out that sort of behavior, at which point most forum jannies were already looking at the threads containing it.

with no hut, we can just accept that general chat is the "new" hut. it's not like general chat doesn't already have dedicated threads to specific topics like in-game stories and game-related art anyway. who gave a fuck about the twitter-tier surface level thought threads anyway? general chat has always been rife with the most random shit ranging from complaints about coding & policy to discussing server-based concepts like population.

note to forum admins: the forum userbase clearly overwhelmingly wants more freedom on what they are allowed to post on the forums. why be so aggressively restrictive? do you honestly believe people have a worse experience because of a few shitposts per general chat thread? if they do, is that the demographic that really needs to be catered for here? i'd wager the hut gathered more views total as a single subforum vs the rest of the entire forum combined.

That's what is pissing off the stoned boy, don't you get it? He wants the viewers to look at the things he wants, there are all these nice coding ideas, suggestions and feedback threads that nobody looks at, and then there is the shitty little hut that nobody cares about that is dwarfing all of these sub-forums combined. Of course he was going to destroy it, or why do you think it hasn't been brought back yet? Because the threads are "soooo stupid" or it's "too toxic bro"? That shit literally doesn't matter, what matters is that the users visit the forums that he wants and partake in it.

And besides, without the thread deletion timer and abolishment of any and all standards, it's never going to be the hut. What I liked the most about the hut was that it was a nice intermediary between discord and the traditional forum model. You could just kick back and post whatever shit you wanted, have a bit of a laugh, and have the thread disappear and die to make room for the next one, and sometimes it sticks around and sparks a genuine discussion. It was cool shit, that's why I want it back. Capito?
