Near as I can tell, your session gets killed anytime your IP changes. That's likely the culprit for most of you.

you're probably behind CG-nat or using a mobile phone and changing ip addresses.

I have never had this problem with tg, but I've had it on other forums, for example haven & hearth. Since whatever I have works here, but not there, maybe it's something more subtle.

Its how the forums IP limit sessions, currently it requires the first half the ip stay the same.

The very narrow attack surface this covers is any situation an attack could get your session cookie but not your password. Given that we use forced SSL, this only covers desktop malware/exploits when you don't save your password in your browser, a very narrow edge case for most of our users. Otherwise such attacks can just go to the source and get your password.

I went ahead and just disabled that setting.
