Most deleted threads aren't user-viewable anymore

And viewtopic.php?f=25&t=21895 will stay at the top of the deleted subforum forever. Magnificent.

Normally I wouldn't care, but the Site, Forums, and Wiki subforum doesn't get enough love and it's making me sad.

I can still see it all so it isn't gone forever if that's what you're worried about, I guess you just need permissions now?

Soft deletes used to be a mod we made to phpbb (prime_trash_bin.mod). before phpbb only support deletes that actually deleted the post from the db, now its built in.

The way things work is different, and the permissions are kinda stupid. What used to be explicit permissions, 'can hard delete, can see deleted posts, can undelete posts, can hard delete own posts', are now mostly inferred permission. both see and restore are part of "can approve/disapprove posts'.

It may be fixable with extensions, but its gonna be low on the totem poll to do.
