MSO has history for not maintaining alternate themes for the forums.

https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/styles-2 Find a style and we can add it. There are other sites with more styles around too.
Simpler is better since it'll be easier to edit the spaghetti than something radical.

There are multiple addons for the popular browsers that will turn pages into dark themes for night reading
