I've heard that maintaintaners are not happy with the current state of golems
I've heard that they want them simplified.
What do you mean by that? What changes do you want?

they want golems to be the player version of slime extracts

They get a slight timed power bonus from whatever ore they eat. Non canon EX: Eat Silver ore for 30 seconds of anti magic

So pretty much remove the races, turn the abilities into timed bonuses dependent on ores and not golems.

Sounds boring compared to the current system. Eating ores for power ups just seems so gamey.

Ah that's kind of lame. Breaks the fantasy as well. Do they just want less species or something?

I've always wanted cheese golems. When they die to brute damage, they collapse into a heap of cheese wedges. When they die to burn damage, they curdle into a pile of burnt food.
Not sure if they'd have a superpower, but they'd make for a fun minion for the chef.

Attacks have a good chance to do heart damage.

This sounds strictly less cool than what we have now, but also Adamantine Golems need to fucking go because I'm sick of a bunch of them tiding whatever they feel like together.

actually, you may be right - I don't think I've seen Adamantine tide in a little while. Diamond armored golems either. I suppose I'm just remembering them more than their actual frequency because of how annoying they are to handle and how easy they are to visually identify.
