tgui output window/skin.dmf overhaul

Post by JJRcop » #187435

I didn't put this in ideas because I think that's more for gameplay where this is more back-end dev stuff. (if it should be there please move it :))

Basically the idea is to gut skin.dmf and replace most of it with browsers hooked up to tgui. Direct output via << would likely need to be replaced for most of the code, the tgui might also need to be able to handle and parse the BYOND macros. But it would be sweet, could do a lot of fun things with it. No need to worry about object verbs/verbs at all really, just implement buttons that look nice and are easy to use. Would also make SS13 look a little bit more polished, since tgui is a bit more polished.

Dunno if anyone wants to do it, maybe nobody will do it, just putting it out there. :donut2:

But tgui is kinda slow, so how much would this prevent people with slower PCs from playing a 2D game?
