Testing gamemodes and role assignment

How does one test gamemodes locally? I'd like to be able to spoof 20+ player populations to see if roles get assigned properly, but I can't figure out how to do that.

I noticed a "populate world" button, but mobs spawned with that button don't count as real players.

I think there's a way to force a gamemode via the config, but I'm not sure. In-game, the game-panel verb lets you set a forced mode, but like you said it wont work if there aren't enough players.

If you enable debug mode with Debug-Game in the debug tab, player count will be ignored when choosing a game mode. Depending on the mode forced this can cause some real funky stuff to happen.

I vaguely remember that it was possible to connect with more than one client (using guest account). Is this still possible on a local server? It's been some time since I last tried that...

Yes, connect via dream daemon, log out of the pager, relog but select guest then connect via dream daemon again.
