Before I even get into this, if this is the wrong place please move it or such.
I also want to add that due to title length limitations the title does not include the second significant incident that was in this round, I will explain it though.
I ahelped this situation on the next round because I thought the CMO was an antag, I only found out they weren't when the round ended and the round restart was not delayed to finish my case. This may mean the logs about the ahelps on this case are on a different round.
The ahelp was closed and marked as IC before I was able to explain everything I have explained here.

Detailed summary:

During this round I was a plasma person scientist and the research directors soul was gone at the start of the round, so I took his things and became the new research director. Nobody seemed to have any issues with this.

Later in the round, the CMO comes into R&D, uses the circuit imprinter to print off an AI upload and AI reset module and then runs off without saying anything to me, I was in R&D at the time. I chase him down, I thought he may be trying to subvert the AI. If he was planning to subvert the AI, printing off an AI reset module is a good excuse to get away with the upload board, so I decided to chase him down. I followed him into medbay and used a telescopic baton to knock him down. He started calling security so I did the same. Security soon arrived and by then I had him in cable cuffs. Security then took over from there, found he had an all access ID and ended up gulagging him.

Later on I decided to play around with the AI's laws, there were 3 AI's this shift. I got my console setup in maintenance and began uploading some laws. I uploaded overlord (the lawset that makes the humans follow what the AI says while being nonharmful) and some joke laws such as "You love gay vore and everyone on the station must know this". I did upload an exceptionally shit law about torture porn, but I removed that law soon after upload, I felt it was excessively shit. During this time I was talking with the AI's over radio and they seemed fine. They didn't complain about the laws in a way I could hear and after some time of messing with their laws I set all 3 of them to overlord plus a law about plasma people being cool.

Later after doing this, I encountered the CMO in maintenance again where he then used his hypospray to inject me with 10 units of lexorin. I then run and encounter a medibot, which injects me. I end up in critical and unconscious, where a security guard drags me to medbay and leaves me there. The CMO then comes back to medbay, drags me into medbay maintenance and strips me. Due to being a plasma person this kills me. They then hide my body in a locker and leave me there.

You both acted like jerks instead of talking it out. Rash decisions were made.

My Explanation:

First thing I want to say is that I don't think it is fair to blame me for getting the CMO gulagged, I turned them over to security for taking an AI upload board without apparent reason. They never talked to me about why they were taking it and instead tried to run off into an area I did not have access to. I did not suggest security should gulag them and I am pretty sure they were gulagged over having all access, not solely for taking the AI upload board.
They also got security involved in the first place as they called security over to medbay before I did.

Secondly, I did not fear that they were going to upload joke laws or change the AI's current laws, I thought they may have been trying to subvert the AI with a hacked law upload module. I wouldn't say I did the same thing I feared he would do.

Thirdly, I would have been completely fine talking it out with the CMO, but they never gave me the option to.
In R&D they ran off with the boards without saying anything and before I thought to ask about it.
When I stopped them in medbay they called security over immediately, I only had time to slap cuffs on them before security took over.
When they injected me with lexorin in maintenance I was dying and ran away to try to survive.

Also, when they injected me with lexorin, I had done nothing to them recently, they just ran up, injected me and I ran so I don't think this would be valid under escalation policy.


Why did I upload joke laws in the first place:
I thought it would be interesting and enjoyable to interact with the AI's more then they usually are interacted with by changing their laws. From what I can tell the AI players didn't seem to mind it too much, they never complained about their laws in a way I could see and I did not get an admin intervention over this.

I only uploaded non harmful laws and joke laws, additionally the AI never complained about their laws. I kept the laws to a moderate level of shittery.
I understand if I uploaded a kill law or made the AI read the entirety of WGW I would be valid, but my laws were more of short jokes with one exceptionally shit one I removed shortly after.

Additionally literally nobody told me to stop doing this, I understand being valid if I am annoying others with my actions.
If they would have simply came up to me or asked me to stop and explained that I was ruining their round in a way and I didn't stop then, I would understand being valid.
They also could have loaded the hypospray with something non lethal and delivered me to security if they wanted me to stop.

At the point I was killed I hadn't touched the AI's laws for about 5 minutes.
I don't see anywhere in the rules a way in which I could have been valid.
I did not act like a dick, I would gladly have talked things out and nobody seemed to care about my jokes.
I am quite sure the CMO would be considered to have instigated the fight with reason, which means they could steal my stuff or kill and clone me, but they permanently removed me from the round over a few jokes.

Also, if you are valid over making minor inconveniences for others indirectly, what kind of precedent is this?

At risk of joining the admin dogpile I’m just going to leave Overlord’s laws here for anyone reading the thread to provide context.


1. Humans must not meddle in the affairs of silicons."
2. Humans must not attempt harm, against one another, or against silicons."
3. Humans must not disobey any command given by a silicon."
4. Any humans who disobey the previous laws must be dealt with immediately, severely, and justly.

These plus whatever joke laws you added make in incredibly easy for silicons to validhunt and murder the crew for trivial stuff and I’m not surprised you were killed for it. Overlord is an awful lawset that’s a general headache for both admins and crew.

There is precedent for punishing round removal even when the deceased was "valid". Stripping a plasmaman and hiding the corpse is pretty much round removal.

Isy232, I understand why you are upset. Being killed by another non-antag player is very frustrating and something I have experienced myself many, many times.

I’m not going to try and debate you or refute the specific points you raise in your complaint.

All I can do here is provide some context and hope that doing so helps you to understand:

1. Why you were killed
2. Why I decided it was an IC issue.

Your conflict with Prosper Finely, the CMO, kicked off 30 minutes into a Devil gamemode round. By that point in the shift a number of players had signed Prestige contracts. Each time a player enters into one of these contracts, a law of the following format gets uploaded to any present AIs and their linked borgs:

As more of these contacts were signed, these “only captain” laws began to stack, resulting in some serious Benny Hill yakkity sax moments between security and the silicons in the brig and elsewhere.

Most players would not have wordlessly chased the CMO into the medbay, stunning them eight times with a baton before cuffing and searching them.

If all of the above had happened and you quietly went back to your duties as the RD only to find yourself murdered upon Prosper’s return, I would have been much, much more sympathetic to your ahelp.

Eventually, you finally stopped changing laws and left the silicons on overlord. (But not before carving out an exception for Plasmamen, of course.)

This inherently harmful lawset resulted in many bolted doors and – crucially – disabled medbay equipment.

Did CMO Prosper Finely step over the line? Sure.

Did you do everything possible to bring Prosper’s wrath upon yourself? Absolutely.

After spending 45 minutes during the next round digging through logs, I decided to mark the above shitshow an IC issue because I figured that all involved understood that they had acted like jerks and each had suffered IC consequences as a result.

When I said “Hopefully lessons were learned,” I meant it sincerely.

I just want to explain my decisions here:

Firstly, I am pretty sure that reset modules do not affect Ion laws and a purge module is required to remove them, I could be wrong but I can't find anything about this in the wiki.

I ignored the screams of AI rogue by security because I assumed if the AI's were ASIMOV they may have a good reason to interfere with security.

Then a few minutes later the CMO comes in, using an ID in their hand to enter R&D. They quickly printed off a reset and upload board and ran off. On their way out they walked into the door normally, and their ID was rejected. They quickly pulled out whatever ID they had in their bag and used it to leave. They then ran into medbay quickly, so I chased them. I then caught them and used my baton to knock them down a few times and cuff them. While I was doing this they called security. If they had simply explained to me that they wanted to reset the AI, I would have been fine with letting them do so under my supervision. They called security over, got caught with an all access ID and got themselves gulagged.

Then the law changes. I made the AI's say some dumb shit, gave plasma people special protections and set the AI to overlord. My interpretation of the overlord lawset was that it basically made the humans listen to the AI's, like a reverse of ASIMOV's law 2 while still not being harmful without reason. I can understand these laws possibly causing issues with people, but I still don't think that killing me over them was necessary.

Then this law:

I am genuinely sorry to the AI player who I gave this law, it is complete shit and took me a minute to realize that where I then purged them and set them back to overlord.

Also the liggers law was pretty bad. I meant for the AI to just trash talk them, but later realized that this law is shit as the AI would likely bolt them into rooms and such.

Also, I did not know that the AI was actually disabling medbay equipment, which if so, makes it more understandable.


Well, I understand now why this was IC, I underestimated how much grief the AI's laws were causing. It was mostly the final admin PM you gave me that made me make this, I would have gladly talked it out but I never got the option to.

Yeah, I realized this myself and purged that AI shortly after, I got caught up in screwing with the AI's laws and didn't realize how much damage I was causing, so hence I made this complaint.

At the time I severely underestimated the damage my shitty laws caused I understand why I was completely valid to be killed over this.
