[Jud1c470r] Spawning a deathsquad during gang.

Round had only been going for 40 minutes, only one gang was left and was preparing to dominate when he spawned a deathsquad.

Deathsquad is overkill for any normal antags since they are near invincible by themselves let alone 5 of them running in and shooting pulse rifles at everyone.
There needs to be better restrictions for when they should be spawned.

Have you considered bringing this up in adminbus? Because both of you are in adminbus and haven't said a damn thing to eachother.

Long story short, captain requested a deathsquad because there was no sec. Not an ERT for some reason, so I spawned them knowing they'd kill the captain, thinking it might teach him some kind of lesson.

I agree with Tsaricide, only 40 minutes in is kind of shitty. That being said I don't think that we should place hard restrictions on deathsquads, there isn't really a cut and dry 'okay' time to spawn one.


EDIT: Now that I think about it, here are some possible restrictions:
What type of round is it?
Are X% of people dead?
How long ago was the most recent deathsquad?
Is the station irreversibly fucked?
Will you be ruining the majority of people's fun?

It was gang. I believe there was a lot of people dead, but that doesnt matter in this case, shuttle was already called and we had just put a dominator(we would have probably won, since we had just crushed the enemy gang and we had two gygaxes defending it).

we can code all but the last one in as restrictions on the button

or just get admins to think before they press buttons that are 99% sure to end the round.

well the lesson learned is to think twice. One more tip is spawning yourself in to give the deathsquad very specific instructions so if they do something you did not intend for them to do, it's on them not you.

I'm going to call it a rookie mistake done by a new game admin and hopefully judicator will not do too many similar dumb things in the future.
