[HotelBravoLima] - Ruins gang round with summon magic/guns

Time incident occured: ~9:45PM EST
Detailed summary: A gang round started up. Everything was more or less fine. Probably somewhere ~30 players on, if I remember right. Suddenly, everyone gets guns and magic, during a gang round. At least one guy gets a pulse rifle. As far as I'm aware, and HBL said so in deadchat, he's the one who spawned it. There wasn't any reason to do it, it immediately shit the round up by tossing extremely heavy firepower that pretty much instantly invalidates whatever anyone else has. Polymorph wands and aliens, all sorts of spells, and a shitload of extremely powerful guns handed out to everyone. The round went to shit in seconds.

Because none of them run an event as a fucking event. If they want to run an event, announce it, set the next round to Extended, and run the damn event. Don't take a perfectly functional round and shit it up for le epik memes xDDD, which is exactly what this was.

Well yeah. There's a big difference between spewing aliens into a rev round and summoning guns during yet another bog-standard gang round. One results in total chaos and the other is a big break in the norm.

I don't think what happened in the OP is the worst thing in the world, but it bothers me that a player giving that answer/attitude for why they heavily impacted the round would probably get permabanned.

I've already had this discussion with HBL once before though (when he put a random map in the middle of meta and vented the station) and he acknowledged it was hypocritical/didn't care.

Even if his reason had just been "because I think a boring gang round would be more interesting" would be a nicer reason to give then "I'm ban proof fuck you."

Nobody has a right to an uninterrupted round.

And yet we'll spend a week arguing in FNR if the clown hit the mime 1 extra time or not and was that an acceptable reason for the escalation that followed.

This is why I am always harping on for low rules, doesn't make sense to have players take the game more seriously than the admins, and I don't it'd be much fun for everyone if the admins were 100% serious all the time.

I find it rather sad that a thread like this even exists. I like it when badmins add a little sauce to the round. This like this could make admins afraid to pitch in and change things. Everyone is so focused on the idea of "winning" that they complain when something outside the bounds of a normal round is thrown in.

I watched this round as an observer, it was great, clown made an alien cult (And I think got banned for it) the gangs did amusing shit, only one person was whining in dead chat.

As to HBL's response, a few lines in that chat earlier, when the guy was asking who added the guns so he could make an admin complaint, I had been taking the piss out of em for whining about a game master doing game master things, so out of context I think that looks worse than it is.

Give HBL more buttons.

Tbh it is a double standard, because admins are different from players in some ways. Not as in deserving more respect or Better People, but as in. Being able to do some things a player can't do. I've always felt that's part of the point.

If the problem is more the lack of explaining and respect in my reply, it's because of the way he acts.

That wasn't the clown, it was an assistant who got banned for murdering a bunch of people in his "alien cult"

But yeah, from my perspective you all got an "extended" round and a gang round, they just happened in reverse order, and conversion mode with lieutenant promotion = people get to take part so the "muh antag" argument doesn't apply

That Comment in itself should completely invalidate Ninja's complaint right there. Dude. it happened. Get over it. HBL fucked up and knows it, and honestly does need to calm down with that attitude, but Your childish bitching does nothing but harm your own cause and make you look incredibly selfish and autistic.
