[Shadowlight213] Blocking Captain Slot pregame

I dont know which admin did it exactly, there were 4 online during the round. The ingame name of the admin that renamed the station was "Hugs-The-Furries"
Ive inserted Shadowlights name into the topic title because he was the highest ranking admin online at that time. Heres a complete list of mins online at said time:

Time incident occured: 06/20/16 - 3.13 AM sever time

Detailed summary:

Rolled Captain as "high" and without anyone else to contest, to play the "Republic of Dave" mini RP. Turn out as assitant. Adminhelp why I didnt get the captainship. Ignored, no response, by all 4 mins. Then a character whos not on the crew manifest "Hug-The-Furries" names the station FurryStation13. Obviously a badmin character.
Look for the Character ingame, sure enough, a spawned character inside the Thunderdome area.

I find this unacceptable because:

1. Fucking with the pregame rolls FNR instead of legitimately rolling Captain and playing the role, leaving us without Captain for the shift.
2. Ignoring ahelps about the issue completely to "sweep it under the rug" instead of being honest about it, like grown ups.

All this to name the station "FurryStation 13", which is a shitty joke at best.

Anyways, the reason I disabled the roundstart captain slot, was that I wanted to test out the station charter since I had never actually used it before. I was tempted to roll for captain, but I was candidating someone that round and didn't want to be admin while captain. I was going to just delete it from the captain's office but I was then informed that the captain spawned with it.
I didn't really have any way to remove it from the captain or disable it, so I disabled the roundstart captain slot.
I saw your ahelp, and was in the middle of making the name, which is why I said "shhh" as not to spoil the name change.
I was planning on handling your ahelp myself after I got the initial reaction, but I think something happened on sybil and I switched over to watch that.
When I switched back, I tried to reply to you, but you had already disconnected.

This reminds me of the people who would *succumb and ban request people who put them into crit and were dragging them to medbay.

If you'd stuck around it would have been trivial to kick you back to the lobby and free the captain slot, but you didn't.

Look, I wanna bring the point home here, so Im gonna be precise and to the point. My manners dont matter, how you handled this case, do not matter,At least not to me.

What I am pissed about is that you plain simply cheated.

When I connect to the servers and ready up for the shift I expect a fair roll of the dice and I think its reasonable to assume that everyone wants a fair shot at Antagonist roles and all that stuff. Now here I am finding out that people are able and willing to manipulate pregame rolls in such a manner.

The trust in the egalitarian nature of the "Ready" button, which gives everyone a fair shot at roles and jobs, is what makes people come back and "ready up" again and again in the first place. Very much like playing the lottery.

Please do not fuck with the pregame RNG mechanics if you can absolutely avoid it. Credibility is important, if people start thinking that there even is a possibility that rounds are rigged, youre gonna loose players.

Now, whether this is complaint worthy or not was partially invalidated by Franz rage quitting 3 minutes after ahelping due to not being captain and making a thread during the round with IC info.

So I don't think this thread serves much point, since as the admins themselves said. They were about to respond to him, but he ended up suddenly logging out.

Could you not just "test" it on a private server? Or even better, just do Select Equipment>Captain?

Seems pretty shitty to disable the Captain slot just so you could change a name, especially when you didnt really need to.
