[MRP Exclusive] THE TRIAL OF THE CENTRALY

Its been about a year since this chats been used, (minus raves calendar for events) so I thought Id give this a go.


WELCOME TO THE TRIAL OF THE CENTRALY!

For a long while, Central Command had their reasons of keeping a specific crewmember around, but the cost has outweighed the reason for keeping them. With this crewmember costing them more than its worth to keep him, Central has had enough. They issued an execution order against this Crewmate. Some escapes and shenanigan's later, they finally had their chance to seal the deal. Too bad a crafty Lawyer found a loophole, and Central Command was FORCED to go to TRAIL AGAINST THE CREWMEMBER!


WELCOME TO CENTRAL COMMAND V. HARK LOGINSTIN!!!

What this entails is an entire round dedicated to a trial against the crewmember Hark Loginstin. There will be a judge, lawyers for both Central Command and Hark, a jury consisting of random crewmembers from the crowd (and possibly a gorilla), Witnesses, both old and new faces, and tonnes of optional events for everyone to get involved!

the goal for both lawyers will be to tip the scales in favor of who they are representing. Of course theres always another force at play, and the syndicate do enjoy a bit of fun. To say anything more will spoil the surprise!

The main idea is for the crew to make up stories as witnesses on stage for Hark, whether it be in his favor or against him. they will be given a small rundown of what hark has done for them, and they can exaggerate the story to their hearts content. The lawyers themselves will be given both harks medical, security, and general records as well as a list of personal feats hark has achieved. The lawyers can use every trick in the book to sway the jury in their favor. The judge must remain impartial, so they are not on CC's OR harks side initially.

The goal is to have an official Central Command Trial the crew can participate in, and have fun watching as the wacky space shenanigan's are brought over to a very underutilized part of CC. Depending on the amount of ghosts, this can be very fun, or very boring. If this sounds interesting to you, let me know. I'm very adaptable towards ideas and if need may be, we could even host this in the events server if large enough!

The ONLY THING OF NOTE would be that IT might be MRP Exclusive, because I don't know how willing the LRP members would be to sit through a trial.

I come back to this thread to bump it and also add extra bits.

Ive had the idea to allow STATIC characters that want to say their piece in the trial by submitting like a small note of what they want to explain in defense or in offense of Hark the character dying or being spared. something both lawyers can question about. IDK of this takes away from random ghost player's chances to pretend take a side, but I always thought it would be a good idea because it makes the interactions players have with each other have some more meaning other than "This happened in this round." Now that thing happening has weight to it that you the player can levy for or against the individual. of course this can open a large can of worms about cannon rounds, but im sure players can work around that for fun.

Interest rises evey day for this thread :D

BACK AT IT AGAIN TO FUEL THE FLAMES.

Having an end all be all with a black or white option sucks. I want the JUDGE to have the option to lay down the severity of punishment. Instead of them having to choose from "Kill bad guy or spare bad guy" with the jury's conviction of guilty of all crimes or not, I want the judge to be allowed to come up with their own creative ways of punishment. Lets say we are convicted as guilty. Instead of the judge declaring an execution, the judge can possibly set up a chance for life via combat with an individual. you win, you live, if you don't, that's it. Or even harsher or lighter sentences. Possibly regulating the culprit to a specific job for a year, or even Execution by Lavaland creatures, or OR even Forcing them to become a laughingstock, forced to equip the cat shoes and cat ears and speak with nyanspeak to the crew for a certain amount of time. or forever.

I want this to have a lasting IC benefit or punishment if the Judge feels it, and id love to honor their creativity the best way I can.

If the lawyers on both ends become evil or are intentionally attempting to sabotage the trial, the lawyers can receive ANY punishment from the judge too. I want the judge to actually feel they have control of their courtroom.
