Will lasguns require a battery pack to be worn on the back?

Ballistics are still the default, right?

ss13 lasers suck

What if they were real lasers, wh40k style, hitscan. You could use code from the particle cannon I guess. You could balance them by adjusting damage, or make it so you have to actually click on target to score hit.

lasers are hitscan by default on cm code i believe
however, lasers also do 2x damage on xenos unless they changed that, and hitscan is a huge, HUGE advantage, so keep that in mind.

We should reserve these laser rifles for NT response teams/mercs. Lasers are shiny, expensive weapons that only intergalactic megacorporations like Nanotrasen can afford to give out like candy. Marines and clandestine paramilitary groups are strapped for cash and have to put up with clunky ballistics.
