I actually had to look up Prevarication

Add this to the military police rule

Change the rule from
Code: Select all
The Chief MP should never commit any crimes in Space Law, but can choose to not punish Minor Crimes done by other players. The MPs should never commit any crimes in space law that have a victim, nor ignore that kind of crime.

to
Code: Select all
The Chief MP should never commit any crimes in Space Law, but can choose to not punish Minor Crimes done by other players. The MPs should never commit any crimes in space law that have a victim, nor ignore that kind of crime. This rule will only be enforced on MPs when there is no IC punishment available, and as long as you act in good faith and don't attempt to ruin the experience of others you will have a lot of leeway.

This one still needs to be discussed. We've agreed on needing a different sort of lawset than both /tg/'s Space Law and CM's Marine Law, more in the line of adapting /tg/'s lawset to fit the marine environment. The overall vision should be to handle little IC issues while not punishing players severely and removing them from the round for tens of minutes at a time and should have the least amount of opportunities to abuse it for both the MPs and the marines as possible.

So far we've only received one proposal for a new marine law by Loorey so if you have any comments regarding it, they are greatly appreciated: https://docs.google.com/document/d/11z4SMz3oa9_J_fM_LsHrgtgikmhOgoKweY9kgvj2Hy8

Finalized proposal is now up at https://tgstation13.org/wiki/TGMC:Military_Law, this is not official as of yet as we're still looking for feedback from the players.

Right now the main thing I suggest is clearing up what an 'incident' is, and possibly adding some examples of incidents that would warrant more than one crime charge.

Amended:

LaKiller8 wrote:For example, if a marine stole the boots of another marine, that's 1 incident, and instead of applying both hooliganism and petty theft, only one should be chosen. If someone broke into requisitions and stole a box of grenades, that is 2 incidents, and trespass/disorderly conduct, depending on the severity, and theft should be applied.

The law has now been finalized after a few other small changes and it's now part of the official rules. This doesn't mean it won't change in the future, just that we have a pretty complete and sufficient lawset to work with.
