Ban reason and length: Reason: As security, harmbatonned and perma'd a person who was being a minor nuisance. While normally I'd let it slide he proceeded to doorcrush them on the blastdoors. You need to take a step back and understand that there's a reason why you have an unholy number of notes and bans for your relative playtime. 1 week

Time ban was placed (including time zone): 2017-04-24 22:50:01 PM EST

Your side of the story: After suiting up and reporting to my assigned department and helping load crates, we get screams from the captain quarters exclaiming the clown broke in and is trying to sacrifice them to Nar'Sie. As I respond and stand next to the bridge doors until the HoS or AI let us through, an assistant rushes to my side, disarms me, and starts choking me. This is repeated twice, after which the assistant escapes. As the captain is secured and the crew begins the process of deconversion and aggressive implanting (As in, secure cargo and order implants) I call on radio to set said assistant to arrest. After they're arrested, which was during a moment in the shift in which we were busy with cult base searching, I leave them on perma until we get more implants, and shutter crush them enough to leave them damaged so an escape through space is more difficult. They were not hurt to the point of bleeding nor crit.

Why you think you should be unbanned: This feels more like banbaiting honestly.

Let us take a look on the list of charges this assistant committed while I was trying to respond to the captain quarter's call:

1) Assault on an officer - That is, if I hadn't broken his grip, I would have started taking oxy damage. I would have assumed it was a prank if he hadn't tried twice to do this
2) Inciting a manhunt - Really didn't expect him to surrender, but these are resources during which the captain was being attacked
3) Aiding and abetting - By inciting a manhunt and trying to incapacitate an officer responding to a call

All of his charges are enough to warrant execution or perma, given the context and what I was responding to in the moment. However, I believe Magikarp acted on a note that was supposed to be removed if the appeal was successfully appealed.

Or I could be wrong and Greyshit McTider was a good boy that dindu nuffin, was getting his life on track in the chapel and was an honor student in the academy of tiders.

I can't comment on the ban because I don't have context but I'd say even looking beyond notes you're known to take things pretty far as sec, and I can understand why an admin without context wouldn't be surprised if you did something overstepping what's acceptable

I don't believe that was an appeal to space law but merely an outline of "this is the shit he did in the form of concrete charges for which he was being punished." Which is kinda the point of sec.

The assistant joined and ran up to him and grabbed him with the intention of dying as such by being a memelord who pretended to be a ling or something dumb but I'm primarily centering this around the fact that repukan willingly harmbatonned+chain blastdoorcrushed a guy into slightly above orange he perma'd after being put on probation over his sec play

If it wasn't for your notes I would've accepted it as such and told you to lighten up

Though the way I got it from both of you was that you were both not in any form of extreme urgency and he just arrived, shoved you over and grabbed you as an annoying prank and then you escalated to perma+crushing him because of the convenient excuse of a cult that popped up

Assistant in question here. The meme started right near the turn from tool storage hallway right below that little tunnel that goes to detectives office. Didn't even know that it was cult round before and checking the logs show that the first call out for cult was like 4 seconds before I pushed him. This was not me rushing the bridge or the brig or hop's office. This was pushing over and grabbing a sec officer in the hallway.

Perma is basically the same as an execution. If it's ok to perma them(I think it was in this case - disarm an officer is a prank, spam disarm and choke isn't) then why isn't it ok to kick their ass or even blast door slam them?
