Ban reason and length:Trashed the bar and robbed the bartender in a \'sec party\'. He then threw the bartender into the brig without a sentence so he could continue partying. When the bartender later expressed his displeasure, beat him into crit with his fellow sec officer and threw him into disposals instead of bringing him to medical. Your side of the story: Bar was empty, I crossed over into the bar and started making some beer for myself and my crippled comrade. The bar was "trashed" by a bunch of glasses thrown. Never robbed the bartender, besides using the free glasses that had already been purchased. The party was announced over comms and security arrived. Some members of security removed the bartender from entering, but that was not myself. I beat the bartender after he attacked another security member, a major offense (302 under Space Law). I hit him once while he was already on the floor, luckily, for you to add into your logs. This is blatantly horrid misrepresentation and abuse of power.
Why you think you should be unbanned: My sole crime is throwing a man into disposals. Seriously? He didn't die, I didn't use lethal means. Self defense of a colleague leading into overreaction.

I just want to clarify that the person did die. Security is also expected to not take badly of the prisoners and attend to their needs, like when they need a doctor, instead of throwing them in disposals.

I'll be reposting snippets of this from Saltshaker's appeal, but I've included some extra logs specifically about you into this post. As I said in the other appeal, I'll keep this as short as I can.

At the time of the altercation that caused the ban to occur, the bartender, Nikolai, had already contacted me about the situation and having been brigged over a misconception he had about owning his firearm. As the bartender, he obviously has a permit but had found himself abused by security over the situation. I chose to follow him and watch what was happening closely. The warden let him out of the brig because he had been brigged without a timer because you didn't give him a brig time, which specifically is against the rules for security to do and you're expected to provide brig timers for anyone you put in there, not just throw them in as a semi-permabrigging so you can continue carousing at the bar. Already you've done something actionable as a security officer, so I'll give you the relevant rule in case you're confused. This is Security Policy and Precedents 4:

For arrested players, timed sentences up to a total of 10 minutes, buckle-cuffing, and stripping, are considered IC issues and are not actionable by admins. Brig sentences totaling more than 10 minutes can be adminhelped, as can be gulag or perma sentences or a pattern of illegitimate punishment. However, security should refrain from confiscating items not related to any crimes, especially important department-specific items like hard suits. Obvious exceptions to this are things like radio headsets, if players use it to harass security over the radio while being arrested.

Upon arrival back at his bar following his brigging he said that he wasn't serving you.

Note the times. He's cloned and out of the round for a good 5 minutes.

You started this series of incidents with an already punishable action, then ended it with putting another player out of the round for a good 6 minutes while not acting in any way as security in this situation. You can barely act appropriately you were. You are a thug and a bully. The month sec ban is well deserved and I am denying this appeal.

A headmin can rule otherwise if they so choose.

Just to add to what's already been said; Going along with what other security officers are doing just because they're doing it is something that players get caught up in a lot, but mob mentality is not a free pass to get away with doing something.

You didn't participate as heavily in the actual attacking of the guy, but you did put him in a state where he couldn't easily be retrieved as he was already bleeding out.
