Your side of the story: I was playing as an engineer and was making electric fences in the kitchen for the chef. I did this before in a round where I didn't break any rules and it went fine. The only people who got shocked were people breaking in (so the electric defenses were doing their job) and no one got 'removed from the round' as once shocked they fled the kitchen. Because of how well this went on, in another round I once again was pda'd by my friend W1fi to build electric fences in defense of the kitchen. Once again, the electric fences inside the kitchen worked well shocking anyone. However, the other chef wasn't too pleased and did attempt to beat me up. When he tried to beat me up for building the fences I pushed him into the fence and he died. Afterwards, the other chef W1fi took him too medbay to be cloned and he was back into the round.

Why you think you should be unbanned: Firstly, I don't understand why I was job banned from Chef for playing engineer. Although I admit I was spending a lot of time in the kitchen as engineer, is it against the rules to help out and build up the defenses if the chef wants it. Even then I still don't see how that means I should be banned from being a completely different role. Secondly, I don't know why in the report it said 'not the first time I've removed people from the round'. In previous rounds I've not removed anyone for no reason and in that round the only person who did die to the electrical fences was instantly taken to med bay and healed. Lastly, I don't know why we are being accused of working together to remove people. Me and my friend W1fi have made sure to not break meta friending rules. If he pda's me to build defenses in the kitchen and we arn't sharing any information in meta comms I don't see how this is seen as breaking the rules, and when a chef did get annoyed and tried to CQC me and ended up dieing we instantly rushed to heal him.

Overall, in future I will make sure to not work my friend as an engineer or build electric fences in the middle of the kitchen if the admins see this as rule breaking, but I wish to be unbanned from playing the cook as I wasn't even playing as the cook in the first place and I have learnt my lesson with being more careful in the kitchen.

Apologies for not replying sooner. I meant to get to this last night but life got in the way.

I won't keep you in suspense: I'm going to tell you straight away that I'm denying your appeal.

Building a bunch of electrified grilles in the kitchen, while incredibly stupid, is not expressly against the rules. What pushes your conduct over into the realm of rulebreaking is how you used them. Despite your claims that the grilles were there only to "defend" the kitchen from intruders, (which is ridiculous by the way, cooks have CQC for a reason) it appears as though they were used primarily to deny Fittedriter/Max Maximillian - the other cook during this round - the use of the kitchen.

Here's the situation as I see it:

The previous round ended with you and your metafriend W1fi having had some sort of conflict with Fittedriter. Both parties enter into the round in question with a serious metagrudge chip on their shoulders. I know this from our ahelp conversations and also because of this odd, unprompted OOC comment made seconds after the start of the round:

I'll concede that you guys did in fact take Fittedriter to Medbay the first time you sent him into crit, but as you can see from the above logs, the two of you got shittier and shittier with each passing minute.

Repeatedly killing Fittedriter, cracking jokes about it and then stuffing him into disposals is not what we in the admin business call "good faith conduct."

Whatever the nature of your metagrudge with Fittedriter, he was playing as the second cook and had every right to be in his workplace. You and W1fi worked together with a wink and a nudge to deny him the use of that workplace, full stop.

Also of note: you were careful to provide W1fi with insulated gloves to ensure he wouldn't be shocked.

You helped him make the kitchen even more lethal.
