Administrator Application Format & Rules

Post by Rohesie » #450771

Rules regarding applications:

1. Anyone can provide feedback as long as it relates to the application, in a civilized manner.
2. Use the template.
3. Applying is not a necessary step towards becoming an administrator. Outstanding members of the community might be reached out to and recruited privately.
4. The minimum time between re-applying is 30 days unless specified otherwise.

The process itself:

After you post your application, the headmin will respond, stating that your application is being reviewed. If the headmin is unavailable, another head or admin will take over the application. During this entire time anyone is free to contribute according to the posting rules described above. You will most likely be asked further questions and potentially details about your past. We will also do some background checks to see if the information provided is correct. After all questions have been answered, a vote will be held in the adminbus. The final decision will be posted here as soon as it's available.

Please fill out the following example scenarios, put your answer on a separate line from the question:
Required: *

*1. A player ahelps saying that they were killed by another member of their squad. When you ask their squad member who shot them, they said that it was accidental friendly fire.

*2. A player is getting aggressive in adminhelps and requesting to speak to a higher ranking staff member.

*3. You see a Ship Technician or another ship-side role ground-side and intermittently engaging in combat.

*4. The round is stagnating. There are 14 marines and 4 aliens (balance will change over time, just imagine a stalemate scenario according to the current meta). The marines won't leave the ship, and the aliens won't attack. What would you do, to "encourage" the sides to engage each other?

*5. A marine has killed another marine. When you ask him why, he said it was because the other marine had punched him or said something rude towards him.

*6. There are minor racist comments going on IC. 9 of the 10 people are laughing and roleplaying but one player gets offended and adminhelps about it.

*7. You see a larva die near the frontlines. Upon further investigation, you see that they spawned in a safe place far away.

*8. You see an SSD Squad Leader in the preparation room 1 hour into the round. When you check the logs, you notice he logged off near the beginning of the round.

*9. You see a player bashing another server or player.

10. You see a member of the staff give wrong information in an adminhelp.

11. You see a member of the staff abusing his powers in-game or otherwise breaking the administrator rules.

12. You see a player break the rules, but they're widely known and reputed in-game and on the discord.

As of 2/22/2023, admin apps are no longer being handled through the forums.

Please ping me in our TGMC Discord server's #help channel (Kiseki#7613) and I'll help you get your app started.

Thanks!
