Did you see this part?
“As many military leaders from across the globe have stated on numerous occasions and we fully endorse – when a 4th generation fighter encounters the F-35 in a combat scenario, the 4th generation fighter dies.”
"It doesn't matter that we lost because it will always win this scenario it just lost!" I know it is meant to engage at range but holy molly ruling out a their own combat scenario as one that can never happen? There is a difference between a strategy and casting turn F-16s.

is it even good at BVR? it's fucking heavy and it's turn rate is not great

wouldn't it lose to a mig-31 or other equivalent LRM platform anyway?

and it's stealth doesn't even work from beam rite

so get in on it's side at any point and you'll know it's there?

anyway unless the pilot was a moron all the chestbeating they're doing is fucking ridiculous considering any idiot with a superior plane should be able to win a dogfight

A guy in a biplane with some dudes strapped to the wings firing stingers, natures most deadly predator.

Biplanes do have really tight turning circles...

I will admit to having been shot down in War Thunder while flying a ME-262 by a Gladiator biplane.

No ramming or anything, just missed on the boom'n'zoom and he spun around on the spot and blew out an engine.

I can believe.

Used to regularly pop ME262s with a Hurricane MK1B back when I used to fly Aces High

biplane with AIM-120D set to BORE when?

AMRAAM would probably cost 100000x the airframe

still probably effective at close range

this is the f-16 successor we've been waiting for.

Fuck we need to all get into the pentagon with this shit.

Twice the wings twice the cost utility or whatever just tell them they can strap twice as many marines on them or some shit.

Twice as many wings, twice as many marine hardpoints.

It's perfect.

Open-air marine hardpoints means they can carry stinger missiles, too!

Revolutionary

A old Master Chief in the Navy who started in the Air Force as a flight controller loves to talk about how funny it was with the air force craft (not limited by the need to be carrier baseable) in simulated battle against navy wings, most of the navy pilots would get "dead" before they even had to chance to realize that they were in danger. That's why the F-22 versus the F-35 is going to look like a drag race between a McClaren and a PT Cruiser that someone tried to slap a supercharger and like 5 race computers in.

at least in the modern era there isn't a huge difference though. certainly the superhornet compares to it's brethren favorably. it loses to the f-22 due to being hard countered by 360 radar stealth. but then everything loses to f-22 until you have IRST like sukhoi or rafale variants, then of course it's up in the air.

maybe in the old days though. then again even in like 70-90 there were tomcats which weren't terrible.

The more I think about this the more I realize that an F-35 might not actually be able to kill a wooden biplane.

Depends on the weather, the biplane is more durable.

>Lightning strikes F-35
Electronics fail, pilot has to punch out and breaks his arm pulling the lever

>Lightning strikes bi-plane
Slight singeing, rain puts out any fire

Biplane is starting to look like a serious contender
