Interesting report from the energy sector that we might finally be able to do something about some of the panic surrounding the grid reaching full capacity, as it was state aid regs that were blocking proper investment in nuclear plants. A few other directives were touched on, like the large combustion plant directive, with comments basically along the lines of "this has already been copypasta'd directly into UK law already so leaving the EU won't change the emissions regs on coal plants, but we're planing on phasing coal out completely anyway so it's double-irrelevant"

A lot of the regulations are pretty much in UK law already so we'd have to deliberately remove them, and a lot of the more panicky ones like holiday rights and maternity leave, the UK laws give us more than what the EU requires so the sky isn't gonna fall on that front. On the other side, most of DEM IMGRUNTS that Farage was wheeling around on his poster weren't even EU citizens anyway, like seriously what the fuck is leaving the EU gonna do if it's pakistanis you're worried about you fucking morons

The biggest outcome of this is that it's going to shake trade the fuck up and trade was pretty much the best reason for staying in and a lot of the leavers would have really preferred if the whole shebang had stayed just as a trade agreement with maybe a european standards body (because let's face it, having a standards body like the BSI is actually a good thing if you want your shit to be compatible) without any of this parliament stuff.

Shit's complicated, yo. And as H. L. Mencken said, for every complex problem there is an answer that is clear, simple and wrong.

Sharia law will literally never happen anywhere but kebab-land. It's just /pol/ meme shit if people say it will

I'm not even going to go into detail on it because it won't happen

Right... because sharia law courts don't exist in Britain and neither do honour killings, rite bruv innit?

And right, because the London Mayor really doesn't want to upset fat feminists that are ashamed of their ugly cheese and tofu filled blubber, and its not because seeing naked woman flesh triggers the rape instinct muslims have trained into them at mosque.

You are correct that existence alone doesn't mean much, because the thing is that these do not replace regular courts. And they only work if everyone involved agrees to the court.

They also handle marriages, but these marriages are not considered legal marriages for actual UK law.
So it's not like they're legitimate courts, as far as actual law is concerned, it's just a thing people can agree to having. Doesn't replace UK law at all

They exist, but they're not what they're implied to be when they're mentioned usually

The only thing wrong with RT is that they report on certain things to create a certain perception. Nothing they report on is factually inaccurate, and in this case they're not lying. Everything is coming from the Die Weit newspaper, which has a reputable reputation.

Brexit cancelled. Unless Scotland agrees
http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-scotland-sco ... s-36633244

Always bet on bureacracy
This means that the UK as a whole can not begin the procedure to leave the EU, and thus nothing changes except that a bunch of panicked politicians and stock market brokers have shown that they don't understand how the systems in place actually work and made fools of themselves.

Or the smarter ones have short sold before, bought cheap, and are now waiting for everyone else to realise that nothing is changing so back to normal

That would probably resolve pro scotland since even if it was short term touching peoples savings will get more remain voters in.

Honestly passion politics is dumb as fuck, mandatory voting is best. You will have your vote and you will like it even if we basically have you coming in just to piss on the ballot.

Not on their lives. There'd be fucking riots on the streets if Scotland actually tried going "Well HERE the results were in OUR favor so YOU CAN'T LEAVE!", and no matter how much of sore losers they are I doubt they'd be stupid enough to provoke something like this.

Trout face doesn't seem to understand democracy

Scotland voted to remain in the UK.
UK, the whole UK had a vote, one option won with a majority.

Thats how democracy works.

--------------

I guess it is just a ploy to get a second scottish independence referendum.
Repeating a vote until you get the result you want? No wonder she's pro-EU.

CosmicScientist wrote: "Brexit: Germany rules out informal negotiations"
I don't get it.
In short, they don't want to negotiate before article 50 is invoked. Article 50 of the EU is the article for leaving the EU, which sets a 2 year timer to negotiate trade deals and such with the EU before actually leaving the thing.
All Germany says with that is that they don't want to start negotiations until Britain actually starts that period

It's advanced bureaucracy, basically

Basically it is funny because Brexiters thought that the EU would be totally fine with this and would give them everything they want, but in reality absolutely no one should have thought that because its fucking stupid and ignores the EU's history of playing hardball with instability in the UK, such as when it said outright it would not instantly allow Scotland into the EU if it broke off.

That or Oranges is laughing at the content, where France and Germany are cooperating, and mistakenly said headline.

Best thing is Cameron going "We're gonna stay in the european single market", too bad that the single market rules and regulations are discussed and decided by EU members, so the UK is gonna be part of the market but unable to have a say in it.

"Let's leave the EU because everything is decided by foreigners" >leave the EU and literally let foreigners dictate the rules

Fun fact, the Austrian green Bernie Sander-esque president guy won solely thanks to the votes-by-mail of Austrian expats who don't live the refugee crisis in first person, rest assured that a lot of right voters who didn't take part in the first election are gonna vote in the re-run to prevent those self righteous expats from dictating things
