when you reach big boy weights calisthenics literally does nothing but help you do more calisthenics movements.

you also don't want to fuck your rest days, that shit is fucking sanctimony. in periods leading up to competitions i would overload like a motherfucker and have literally one actual rest day which was sunday. every other day was in the gym doing anything from 60% 3R squats to 95% 1R squats, C&J and Snatches.

By the end of all that I could literally not sleep properly and felt like a 80 year old man every single walking step but its that constant HUSTLE man. it's not worth it unless you're competing though, i stopped functioning properly for the few weeks leading up to it every single time without fail.

rest your ass or snap your shit

i dont have a set time...

whenever i feel its good is when i do another set.

sometimes i feel it and i do shit with just 5 minutes rest.

other times i dont feel good at all and i need atleast 15 minutes between each >90% set

get fever
sick as fuck
no energy
hungry as fuck
body empties stomach constantly

realise I have low body fat, high metabolism
realise if I don't eat soon my body could mine my muscles for nutrients
absolutely the fuck not.

just fmsu fam. stuff myself on carbs, forced 5 slices of ham down my throat, go to sleep sweating bullets worrying I might lose gains.
saved myself with duck breasts and vegetables forced down my throat. cured myself of the fever with several shots of scotch.

gains = saved.

An estimated 4/5 men can't do pull-ups.

If you can't do 4 proper pull-ups, you need to get fit.

it is the ultimate exercise.

it is a religion
so many varients of pullups
so useful

was deadlifting with red plates on friday. kid next to me was deadlifting almost twice as much and he was about my size.

but he couldn't even do 4 pullups consecutively.

we had a lot to teach eachother.

there was also this short dude who was doing skipping, handstand pushups (half rep before being unable to maintain it), human flags, and pullups.

man the pullup area is getting crowded, what happened to all the curl bros

Re: /fit/ thread

i mean pulling alot of weight in deadlift doesn't mean all that much (it's basically the easiest movement to pull alot of weight, some beginners can go up to the 100s with proper form), and doing pull ups is less to do with overall strength and more to do with having the necessary developed unrelated muscle groups that it employs. just like every other calisthenic movement.

mhm yeah.

the difficulty for me is the balance between aestheticly pleasing body, and one that is practical, especially for military.

I'd really love to bench press more and more and get an incredible chest

but I need lats of steel and incredible VO2 levels and endurance instead.

more in terms of general fitness really.

honestly there's no reason to give a fuck about the aesthetics of anything other than your face and maybe your arms if you've got a good wardrobe and/or tailor

Recommend me a good exercise that doesn't use the legs

After a bit over a year of hospital-assisted leg exercises, I'm looking for a way to get my upper body back into shape as well
Several months of no exercise and being in bed made me fat and reducing my food intake is not enough to actually go from fat to normal again, so it's time to start doing stuff instead.
