Bottom post of the previous page:

I indeed prefer 4th over 5th, mainly because I learned with 2nd and relearned with 3rd, then with 4th, and now I feel old as fuck so I'm sticking to this for now.

That, and it has all the splatbooks and content for it

-
CoC works for me, I think. I may get in some slight scheduling issues but it should work

Ah that's funny, I went through kind-of a similar process. Started with 2nd in Middle School and just followed the series for ages. I was really reluctant to get into 5th but after trying it a bit I think it's actually the best edition for maintaining balance and making sure dice pools and tests don't get insane. The limits system is pretty cool and I also like how they revamped the matrix. You can do a matrix run in the time it takes to run a regular (short) combat. It's only like 4-6 checks then you're done.

EDIT: You can put Chemistry in your list of requirements above (I've been so busy lately I'm only just now looking it over and cooking up a character, sorry) just make it the Chemistry knowledge skill not the active skill. Now your character has chemistry know-how (and spent their freebie points on it) instead of chemistry I-can-build-and-defuse-bombs

That is a good idea, yes. But I thought of it as being amusing to have a lab assistant get told to explain it and the players just not getting it. Then coming up with analogies to try to explain it.

That said, I have 3 character sheets, with more people having mentioned an interest.
Going to make the deadline next friday, I think
Maybe saturday if I feel generous

So my group finished our campaign of 4/5 month~ last night
We cheesed the BBEG so bad.
Spoiler:
>sci-fi
>magic, im a mage
>earth was destroyed (life) by magic
>go to earth after unleashing like an eldritch tentacle creature
>we set up a little base
>go to our ally aon
>meet a wizard who was part of the group with aon who sealed the BBEG last time
>i roll well on thaumatogy to kinda learn how to teleport when he takes us to some grove
>i become the next 'guardian'
>ragey friend gets some you're a reborn rock golem god thing
>cowboy friend just get a gun
>BBEG arrives
>blow 69 fatigue into a shot to end it quick
>woulda done 74d6+69 through armor so, yeah.
>he grabs the arrow and chucks it
>rage friend goes up to melee him
>cowboy shoots at him
>ragey friend keeps missing
>cowboy throws a nade
>ragey gets so butthurt the roleplay stops for 10 minutes
>bbeg gets me to move away, goes after cowbow
>give ragey ability to hit BBEG from anywhere in the universe, still goes into melee range
>i jump between BBEG and cowboy, luckily parry his shit
>punches me into -14hp
>HT succeeds
>i run away around a corner while taunting and inject myself with an epipen with the last guardians blood in it (mistake cause GM forgot to mention something about the last guardian from near the start of the campaign)
>bbeg follows and i scream for everyone to get to a nearby underground temple
>i got a plan
>ragey fails a feint and literally leaves the building for 20 minutes cause he didnt know it was a full round action
>he comes back BBEG picks me up
>our bounty hunter ally whos useless gets a crit on her shotgun and rolls crit table
>target drops what they're holding
>which is me
>cowboy starts hauling ass to temple
>ragey friend envolpes me cause im not doing what he wants
>takes us and the BBEG over to our last resort, a nuke size missle
>since im stuck in his stomach im just readied in case anything i can do happens
>hear him messing with our last resort
>fuck, burn some health and my last fatigue point to try and teleport the little bit of of distance to the vault directly below us
>crit success, but i go unconcious
>missile goes off
>bounty hunter, ragey and the entire city wide area is vaporized.
>cowboy is only one awake in the vault
>goes outside to check,
>friends vaporized completely, black ichor trail leaving towards the closest forest
>he follows trail
>finds the tiny bit of BBEG left thats crawling away
>walks up to it
>Tips his cowboy hat
>says "It's high noon!"
>Fires gun he got at point blank into BBEG's head
>entire head gone
>government comes, zero's cowboy
>recovers his ship from an ai i made and its army of ai children
>he sets course to the andromeda galaxy and goes into cryo.
which will be the start of a future campaign after the new one we are starting.

I probably won't be able to make CoC this Friday. What other times work for you guys in general? Thursday, saturday, sunday?

Usually not saturdays for me, I run Shadowrun then
Most of the saturday anyway

This thursday maybe kind of possibly works, depending on time.
Otherwise, weekend mostly works. Most play times are night for me anyway.

I can play at most an hour if we start that time on thursdays
So it's not ideal at all

Deadline for the Shadowrun characters is

Whenever I go to bed today

I'll look through all the characters tomorrow. I have received a total of 7 character sheets, but 3 of these are by the same guy so it sounds like more than it is

Will be comparing schedules the day after tomorrow, when I make sure the characters are okay

Did they get rid of using material links for ritual sorcery in 4th ed?

What the fuck?

EDIT: Nevermind the rules just got moved to Street Magic in 4th. Still exists.

I've considered it, and the group does not have any big holes in it. You are all in, and we're going to have to figure out what times we can actually play(The hard part)

So I will ask you, the players, to post what times you can make and then I'll find any common times we have open that can fit in a game

So I double checked the character sheets and found a theme

Every single one of you forgot to get a commlink OS (Like getting a computer but not getting windows/linux/whatever), or any programs.
The programs are optional since your commlink does have some basic functions, but you kind of need an OS

Not to worry, you can get a free custom-OS
It's shit though.

That said, your office has a quality matrix access point with some quality programs. The thing is that you can't carry your office node with you, so you can't search stuff using those stats when you're out somewhere

Re: Tabletop General

What? I swear to god I bought an os

Re: Tabletop General

by XSI
I double checked and yes, you did. That's my bad, I skimmed over for programs and found that nobody got those, then checked someone else for the OS and skimmed a few more sheets.

Still, it's not a huge deal. Especially since there is nowhere that this programs stuff is explained in depth aside from the more detailed rules on hacking and similar. It's easy to miss

I am aware of this. Just pointing it out for people that this is a thing they too could have gotten if they wanted to be that bad at tech

Other fun note about the group thus far: No trolls, no orks
Two ladies, three men
Six guns
A total weight(Equipment excluded) of 754 kg
Six vehicles
The highest costing lifestyle in the group is at 10k nuyen a month
And the lowest is at 800 nuyen a month

You should be able to fill in your character file at the roll20, and read basics about two NPCs and your office
Though the NPCs will get proper introductions when we actually play

Yes. Your day job pays 5k/month as a base

Though you can get bonuses for good performance, a raise for consistent good performance, or find other ways to earn money

Braaauugh can no longer make these next two thursdays, my philosophy professor decided "oh hey you're required to go to these lectures now on two day's notice, have fun" like an ass

Already talked to XSI about this but today is Canadian Smallpox Blankets holiday and i will not be able to play unless it is pretty late EST, he said we were probably just wrapping up character descriptions and that sort of thing and that it wouldn't be a problem. I could still maybe do today but like i said it would have to be pretty late

I was expecting things to be pretty slow and today I had my day fucked with so it's not great for me either

Next week
9 PM GMT

Which translates to:
5 PM EST
11PM Amsterdam time

http://www.worldtimebuddy.com/?qm=1&lid ... &sln=21-22

If this doesn't work, we can bump it foreward an hour or two. Or back. But since nobody really mentioned much on their times I'm going to just assume everyone has an open enough schedule to work this

EDIT: Also am I bad for wanting to see a Shadowrun campaign in a weird underutilized side setting like... I dunno, Anchorage in Alaska, or like Edmonton Alberta. South Africa? Metahuman Aparteid?

Not at all.
It's just that most of those settings take a bit of time to get used to and you need to have a GM who can be motivated to run it

There is a lot of material out there, most of it pretty great

Shadowdetectives went as expected, great group banter

There's some pretty interesting stuff in the Elven nations that would be great fodder for games as the different royalties compete with eachother in the TT or the ridiculous bureacracy setup in the TNN clashes.
