A bunch of other spacenerds are wanting to pal up and fly spaceships so I'll be keeping an eye out to see if E:D goes on sale.
Otherwise not planning on getting much on account of having a shitload of games I've still not finished and my budget being murdered by car repairs last month (two fucking springs snapped, god forbid the council around here actually bother maintaining the fucking roads, noooo, we gotta be GREEEEEN, let's put in fucking trams in the city centre that don't go anywhere that the existing rail line doesn't go, except now they're above ground and in the fucking way instead of running through the route that's been there since Victoria was on the fucking throne and thus all the roads go around without any troubles)

I just got a 1070 and don't have anything good to really push it framerate wise (that I haven't already beaten), give me some ideas

I don't have any money but whatever we'll cross that bridge when we come to it

Probably nothing. I play mostly multi games these days, I buy single and never finish them and feel bad about it later.

I might get DOOM if it goes for €10 or so.

If you like original doom download a doom sourceport like GZDOOM and enjoy them with all sorts of better features and stuff, it is worth it. The Classic Doom modding community is alive and well

Time for me to be a judgemental fuck
CosmicScientist wrote:I think I already got everything I wanted but I could always expand my horizons and be disappointed.
Endless Space 2 (actually I want to play this because Amplitude make the only Sid Meier style 4X I don't drop immediately, I'm just hesitant because I've only ever played one faction in any game and hated the rest, that and I don't understand how to goal orientate myself in a 4X, "I want to be the best at everything!"/the game doesn't punish me for focusing everything except mechanically useless tech and buildings)
ES2 has issues. But it's overall pretty decent. There is no real noticable difference between the factions as far as I've seen, so you dont have to worry about hating one faction when there's no practical difference between the lot of them in most cases. Also the dev preaches ayn rand so the power of money is absolute after a certain point
[*]Stardew Valley (although I imagine I'll drop it given how at the time, pacing and grinding was a common complaint, that and I'm not a Nintendo boy/haven't ever touched Harvest Moon so I'm not going in for nostalgia)
It's actually decent, grindy but decent. Plenty of shit to do, you'll be fine
At least until you lose interest in the goals it gives you
[*]Any EU4 expansion, music and unit reskin that is 1) not shit and 2) more than 50% off (I hate how there's only one or two mechanics I want from each expansion and I want a parliament to see how that plays without development or landed factions, since I think they're all in Common Sense which was as controversial as Conclave for CK2, development fucks with the game balance and RNG ruler mana should not be used for it either, DLC further diluting the pool of events is also nice because comet sense is in short supply and hunting accidents are the opposite, I also miss the Knights Hospitaller's old unit model before they got standardised for no good reason other than everyone gets a bascinet without the visor)
They raised the prices on EU4 before the sale, so it won't really be a sale unless its more than that, but that's about right. Also prepare for disappointment because nearly all the EU4 'features' they added over time are pretty shit
[*]XCOM2 with DLC if at a fair price (I'll grit my teeth through the radicool, teenager rebel phase, breath a sigh of relief at CoD exosuit hydraulics and then quit when it reaches Mass Erect original Personal Armour spandex, I also hope I get no performance dips)
No comment there, you said everything I'd say about it
[*]Wolfenstein the new order? I know it was on sale recently but the only thing similar I've played was HL2 and I wasn't falling over myself to grab Wolfy's remake/reboot at the time and the same goes for Doom's do over I guess?
Also no comment, enjoy. The doom one is apparently good, havent really heard much about Wolfenstein
I'd add cities: skylines' DLC to this list if it'd finally be a game not about perfect road users, a bad mass transit interface and boring pollution mechanics.
Sadly the DLC doesn't actually fix any of that as far as I know. The game still starts just breaking down after you get moderately big

CosmicScientist wrote:They raised the price on what I assume is a four or five year old game? For a sale? Isn't that an illegal practice? I think it is in the UK in physical retail (I don't know the price change time limit before a sale) but I don't know about virtual, international and who cares enough to prod Steam into submitting (recalling that German national privacy/ownership/somethingy case).
There exist entire stores out there who have 'neverending sales', which they accomplish by citing the price they want to sell normally at as the sale price and then just making up some shit for the price it 'used to' be sold for.
These articles have never not been on sale, never sell for the non-sale price, and they never will even be offered for more than the 'sale' price anywhere.
Many cases of stores raising the price before putting an item on sale exist with people calling them out, and as far as I know courts have always said "That's scummy but technically legal", from the US to multiple countries in europe.

Nothing to be done about it except letting people know not to be fooled by the big green numbers of a "sale" that isn't really a sale. As far as I recall the same shit happened last year too, though I forgot who did it back then

I think it happened with gta5. I never noticed it happen with EU4 DLCs because the prices are pretty easy to remember and I don't recall them changing during sales.

Pretty good. Mostly resource management and trying to survive. Little bit of stealth stuff to go with it and get your resources.

Bit too easy though, I finished on my first attempt

Got this
http://store.steampowered.com/app/59593 ... to_Riches/
Now to never play it multiplayer because nobody else has it

At least it seems to have singleplayer available
And of course steam doesn't bother getting the servers sale ready so I'll spend an hour trying to get it

CosmicScientist wrote:Well now I'm grabbing Shadow of Mordor because it's £3.20 on steam... I'll just play a game or something whilst the steam store takes five hours to tell me if there is a game to do with my search criteria of Mordor.

Also is steam broken in various ways for anyone else? The search bar used to delete the text so I could search whatever I want but now it creates such wonderful search messages as "seaMordorrch the store" if I'm careless. I swear that's supposed to be client side whilst the quick search/suggested title drop down is the only part of of it done server side.

Every time, steam sales means steam fucks up on servers. And every time people just sorta take it.

In related notes, GoG also has sales. They seem a lot less of a spectacle, but still good value
Edit: And their servers actually work. Is there anything they're worse at than Steam? Don't think there is

I've always said the best thing you can buy during the steam sales is valkira chronicles. Also if you don't have it already supreme commander is a great buy.

I got DOOM and instantly regretted it because I have to turn the graphics to minimum and resolution scaling to 70% to play it with somewhat decent framerates

despite that I like it though so I won't refund it, I will however wait with playing the higher difficulties until I get a better PC
