STD is terrible.

I thought maybe the pilot wouldn't be representative of the actual show, since you know - it didn't happen on the discovery.

But no. First proper episode: Woman-with-a-man's name's room mate is a fucking ginger Sarah Ryder. I'm expecting next episode she chokes on a piece of lego and all the useless men crowd around not knowing what do until Miss Knowitall runs up to do a vulcan heimlich.

You're literally white knighting a fictional character on a show that is generally panned as terrible. I hope you understand this.

Welp. I guess I didn't think this through. I should have gone:
+body clinging clothin
-other stuff
I was trying to say if you wanted a fantasy with her character, the magic would be gone as soon as she opens her mouth. If we forget pillow talk, roses or board games being nice in a relationship, I'm not sure her character made any sexual leaning outside her clothes, I'd even imagine she'd be repulsed by the question of a date. Then I started fawning over Data for some reason even though I didn't like him that much.
I'm pretty sure the Doctor was a closer Data analogue than Seven was. Those stories were at least a little interesting and only occasionally tread the "oh right the Doctor isn't affected by shit because he's not real" literal deus ex machina.

Or at least I think they had an episode about a bunch of doctors pushing trucks around in a mine because automation is better when the machines resemble slaves.
What happened in that episode?
They also had fun beyond "I'm a hologram" by using unethical medical research and the patient's wishes being a part of the doctor's responsibility. Huh, I guess I liked at least one character from Voyager.
They did a sorta weird solo-episode too where everyone on the ship was trapped in suspended animation except the doctor who just kinda wandered around all episode until he fixed everything.

As I understand it JANEWAY was a better female lead! Though Janeway was good when written well.

We had a better black lead in Sisko too. I mean fuck no one has ever been underrepresented in Star Trek since the fucking 60s.

Even then aside from the miniskirt Uhura was one.of the most.important members of the fucking .crew.

It was great at the end of the episode where he came back out of the transporter as his adult self and the very first thing he did was reach up and confirm that he was once again bald.

Eternal youth with no consequences?
Nah. Most transporter accidents are the equivalent to epilepsy being cured when someone suffers traumatic brain damage with no other major consiquences: Sure it would be neat to understand the process of how to recreate that perfectly but it isn't like you could ever reliably recreate the effects because it depends on you fucking with a person on a quantum level rather than just copying them without looking at all the data your fucking with too hard because it literally violates the laws of reality.
