I have met over the years a small handful of furries that are actually mostly normal and fun to hang out with because being a sea otter or whatever the fuck isn't their sole purpose in life. They do other shit, they have friends outside that community. Their whole life doesn't revolving around drawing fan art of the Lion King and jerking off to it.

Being a furry must be like if you were born in identical octoplets and all seven of your brothers are total sperglords. And you all go to the same high school. You'd be spending your life running around trying to convince everyone you're not the retarded one.

We don't admit him into our fold as one of us. When people are like "WOW THIS GUY IS NUTS" we don't jump to his defense like "Hey I like videogames too! Stop persecuting us gamers!".

Actually, within the fandom reactions on Chris-Chan are mostly "make a WTF journal about his latest escapade on FA, obtain agreement that he's a shitbag, forget about the issue".
Those who do defend him do so in the noisiest and most annoying fashion possible. Which is why they're the ones who get noticed. Majority of the fandom is sick of this shit, I guess, but there's always the vocal minority.

...and another thing entirely when the community you identify rallies around you and says "yes this is appropriate behavior how dare they treat us all like this". When nobody else is stepping up and saying "Hey I'm also a two-dicked rainbow-colored transwolf but I have to agree this was out of place you're being weird" the rest of the world must logically assume everyone is this fucking crazy.

I don't think anyone really cares too much anymore what bizarre configuration of animal parts and genitals you wish you were. What bothers people more is that the furry community has to be so fucking invasive/edgy and inject that bullshit into everything, and act like they're the victims of genocide when people tell them to knock it the fuck off.
