>letters correspond to sounds you make while talking
>learn each letter sound individually
>know that AEIOU are vowels and the rest are consonants
>know that Y is an interesting exception, it can be both a vowel or a consonant
>for example, in you it is a consonant, in gyro it is a vowel

>there are a lot of exceptions though, learn the most common ones
>some letters are silent
>the k in know and knight
>some letters can have ambiguous pronunciation
>C can be a K sound or an S sound: cancer begins with a K sound, then an S sound. kan-ser
>some letter combinations are pronounced different than their individual
>the ph in phone is pronounced as f
>the th in the is pronounced tvh

>you are allowed to make mistakes as long as you learn
>rome wasn't built in a day, neither can you learn to read in a single day, keep practicing and eventually you'll get a firm grasp on it

if you are reading this you already have some reading comprehension, congratulations!

I cannot read or write. The spastic flailing of my hands and fingers have, by complete chance, taken me to this community and written every post I have ever constructed. Any response to the post of another user has only seemed that way, reached through pure coincidence by a cosmically unlikely series of muscle contractions. This post is no exception., jfkdsfajdkslfdkslafjdlksamfng ewaoifjhewoialf ewaea h
