If you consider the lore it makes sense. In Yoshi's Island DS, baby mario is shown being delivered to his family by the storks and the yoshis, baby DK, baby wario, and baby peach are also being delivered to their respective families. Could wario be the missing link between the more traditional kong families and this separate, more evolved, more intelligent kong family known as "jumpy kong?" Could princess peach therefore, be an even more advanced, more evolved form of the Kong genetic line, perhaps a so-called "peachy kong?"

This assumes that the only prerequisite to being a Kong is being a simian, while the actual prerequisites aren't fully understood. As you said, they're of different species, meaning it's not likely that they're directly blood related. I propose then that the Kong family is more likely a local chapter to their island, with the group being composed of individuals that just happen to have been raised together in close proximity. This is further evidenced by the island they live on being called Donkey Kong Island, with sources describing it as "the Kongs birthplace, home of Donkey Kong and the rest of the Kong Family[1]."
