It's unfortunate you feel this way despite the heaps of good events admins have done in the past(Shoutout to Jerry Derpington). It's genuinely hard to do decent events because you need creativity(think DMing) and code knowledge/knowledge of admin tools. Having better admin tools helps a lot with this(i. e. less VV more buttons)

Playful tribalism is cool and all, it's banter and ribbing and that's great. But I think we have a bit of responsibility as staff to not lean into it too much, the logs here don't help Paxil's situation and had they chosen not to say these things the tone of it all would sound very different.

Even if you're doing something ironically, you're still doing it, and while bants are fine in moderation it seems like there are some situations where it comes off too harsh or people are not in fact ribbing and are just legit engaging in tribalism between servers of the same community.

I think this is a detriment to us, because legit resentment of servers or other players isn't healthy for our community and isn't a good look. I think that staff have a responsibility to lead by example.

Consider that we are still one big community with several servers within it and that friction between servers is basically in-fighting that makes things a little less great for everyone.

1. Blob is rare. In my three years of playing (993 rounds), I don't think I've ever rolled blob once. This isn't like Versus Saxton Hale, where someone new gets a chance to be the asymmetrical antagonist every fifteen minutes- one probably gets a chance to play blob maybe once a year if they're lucky and play semi-regularly (admins and SS13 addicts being probable exceptions to this). With this in mind, it's a given that most blobs will have little to no idea what they're doing, explaining the low win rate.

2. You should know better than anyone, Oranges, that game balance isn't a linear equation. Quintupling the point generation of a blob doesn't make its win chance increase from 1% to 5%. Returns can be exponential.

3. As Goof pointed out, Paxil buffed the blob so that it was at endgame power with no rampup before the crew even knew it existed. If that isn't setting the crew up to fail, I don't know what is.

they were supposed to fail you fucking dent head, they were trying to end the round, that's the whole point, obviously next time they should skip the drama and ask the keyholder to just kill the DD process so it looks like a crash instead.

that's how I restart servers without getting complaints from people, it helps there's no audit logging on it either.

Thank you for the acknowledgment. Anyways, I agree that this seems like too jaded of a reason to cockblock admins (as long as it can be var-edited, it is acceptable though), and I feel like what Paxil did isn't even them simply "pressing buttons." They had to do some directly specific var-edits in order to make the blob overpowered, which hardly counts as "admin controls" unless you wanna argue that debugging the game = bad. I have heard examples that can be considered as better justification for such a jaded approach of "fuck the admins no matter what" however this ain't it, chief.
