PLUTO PLUTO PLUTO PLUTO PLUTO
Discuss Pluto here!!!!!!!!
-breathes out-
Sorry, I'm excited.

Basically, NASA's "New Horizons" probe has reached Pluto - it was launched in 2006, it took a long time to get there! (Space is big!) - and it's sent back its first transmission to NASA! No pictures (yet), but we know it's OK and it hasn't been hit by a space car! It's taking lots of pictures and collecting data, and it'll be sending some back at some point today! (It's already sent them back, but space is big, so it takes a while to get here!)

THIS IS REALLY EXCITING AND A BIG DEAL

Pluto IS a planet and I'll fight anyone who says otherwise, dammit"

(But really, how about the Curiosity rover, the MESSENGER, the IKAROS (this one's by Japan), the Voyager 2...)

when we found out about pluto (this was like Some Time Ago and i was a small child) in the uk there was this like hippie festival thing? celebrating the discovery of it and how it's all about love and peace and woaaah drugs or some shit like that
my parents decided it was a brilliant idea to take me and my two brothers to it for a weekend
one of the terrible, terrible things i saw was a 37-stone fat lady walking around the entire campsite banging a gong naked shouting 'meeting'.

i'm pretty sure nobody is allowed to camp on that field anymore.
Check out Phoenix Bucket!

it is a well-known fact that America didn't find out about Pluto until somewhere in the 1990s, when the British prime minister joked that they might find oil there

on the arrival shuttle, I saw the iconic toolbox on the ground. I clubbed myself in the head with it trying to figure out the controls.
Setting the tool box, now bloodied, back on the table; I went to heal myself with a medkit. I clubbed myself in the head with that too.
I've come a long ways from asking how to switch hands.

The HoP just toolboxes someone to death out of nowhere, then gets speared by a chemist who saw him murder a guy, then the chemist gets beaten to death because someone else saw him kill the HoP.
Tele-man somehow dies and gets its looted by an atmos tech who managed to use it to send two nuke ops to lavaland, who were then surrounded by several very angry people from earlier and some extra golems on top of it.
Captain dies, gets cloned/revived, lasers the guy holding the disk into crit to take it back.
Some idiot tries to welderbomb the AI hiding out at mining for no discernible reason.
Two permabans and a dayban, i'm expecting a snarky appeal from one of them soon. What the fuck.
