FAQ's:
  • NEETfags get out
  • Full time students without a part time job can post here about what they're studying
  • Adminning is not a job
  • If you're too young to get a job why are you here
I'm currently banging my head against a wall setting up a Domain Controller test lab so that I can test a system monitoring service for our uni's servers, it's great fun. What are the rest of you up to?

Having to take a break from doing science type shit in order to go back to our weekly experiment time sheets and adding up how much of everything we have used over the past few months. Fun times

I teach, but I won't go into details because I'm afraid one of you might show up at my doorstep.

I'm a licensed insurance agent for a major american insurance company through a third party call center.

It's actually not as bad as it sounds. I only work on existing policies in the states I'm licensed in, and don't cancel or create new(only under certain circumstances) policies so I'm getting a flat hourly rate without having to worry about commission.

I do medical physics research and quality assurance, specifically stuff related to treating cancer with radiation therapy using linear accelerators.

It's a lot less exciting than it sounds, however.

Might not be exciting, but so far you look like the most likely candidate for saving lives in here.

I'm a media analyst of the code monkey variety. I watch tv and listen to radio whole day and tap on the keyboard.

Taking a coding class on the side to try and turn this hobby into a marketable skill set. Constantly trying to leverage my old skill set (BS Chemical Engineering) into paying work as well. Generally unsuccessful at it.

Note to potential future employers that somehow traced my identity back to here: I'm a good worker, honest.

Unloading trucks, bowling boxes, and then pushing inventory at Target (again)
Chewing out some of the lazy fuckers who just throw the boxes randomly down the aisles during the bowling phase instead of putting the boxes in front of the where they'll go on the shelves once they're opened.
It's not a glamorous job but I still like it. It's a 4 AM shift so I'm usually working with people who actually want to do the job right instead of some teenage cunts who put absolutely no effort into their work

Funeral Director Intern, will get my license in 1 year or so.

I do body pick ups, embalming, and funeral planning and stuff. Although I just started recently so it's mostly body pick ups for now.

So long as you enjoy it and you can make a living out of it, don't worry about anything else tbh.

Monitoring reserve generators.
It's mostly quiet (hence shitposting here) but sometimes things happen like a few minutes ago we had a big negative frequency spike on the grid, so the job is pretty much periods of feeling like an utter skive interspersed with "oh so that's why they have someone in this seat 24/7"

I'm taking financial reports from faggots and denying them and also doing things like calling places and telling them what to do or meeting people and telling them what to do and writing reports and also a few months back I used to go to the toilets to cry a tiny bit and imagine a big fluffy panda hugging me but now that I'm leaving in three days I feel much happier.
danno wrote:someone please hire me i will kill myself please fuck you please
Will you kill yourself if you're hired because I can understand that.

Working in the intensive care unit, checking ventilators and making sure people can breath. Not much to do today, hopefully it stays that way (hint: it never stays that way).

I'm sitting here pretending to be the sort of law student who gives a flying shit about Conflicts of Laws. As it is, I'm just spinning my pens and hoping not to have to read the facts of whatever uninteresting case the professor dug up. Class timing means I'm also sitting here through when I'd rather be eating.

I'm dealing with having two schedules for when my work is due- one set by the professor I'm actually working with, that makes sense in context, and another one set by the department that demands I deliver draft project proposals before I actually have all the information about the computer model I'll actually be working with that would be needed to write such a thing (because post-docs are still expanding the model in question).

So I wind up having to write large tracts of scientific text based on what I *guess* will be the state of the model, whose only purpose is to hand into the department for evaluation.

I've started work at an assembly yard that builds trusses, floors, and prefabricated stairs. Currently I work in one of the sawshops stacking lumber and wrapping it to be used one building over in the truss shop.

It's nice work for what it is, the days are long however, 10 hours a day/4 days a week.

This weekend I realized just how stupid some people are when a car going 25 tried merging into my lane when I'm driving 5 tons going 60. Even airbrakes can't save you when you're that stupid!

I'd have loved to smash into him to teach him a lesson but I was being tested.

I live in a tiny town where my options are retail or pub work.
Moving will cost me money I can't earn
I will surely kill myself in a year or two

also niknak the only way to teach people to not do something is to show them there's consequences

almost causing an accident means they're a danger to others and very much deserve to be slammed into so they learn not to do that again

i worked at a tim hortons (coffee/pastry place for non canadians) for a bit

I had a week left on my hiring probation (3 month period after hiring where you can be fired without warning or explanation) and was apparently doing really well, one of the older folks working there swore I lied when I said it was my first time and claimed I had to have worked at a tims before

showed up one day and the manager said "remember that probation? yeah sorry we're not keeping you"

a shame tbh I really enjoyed working there, though this was a while ago

Wanting to kill people road rage yea.
and you always say that, it's your go-to insult for anything I do. Be more clear in your sentences in the future, it will better help you articulate your meaning in the world.
I like working with data. You use the same insults over and over and continue to be the grumpy dude on the forums. Shrug.
