Use Dropbox for hosting images? Read this:

Important changes to the Dropbox public folder

Dropbox accounts created after October 4, 2012 won't have a Public folder. If you'd like to quickly share files you can use a shared link. Shared links work even if the person you're sharing with doesn't have a Dropbox account.

Dropbox Basic (free) users

As of March 15, 2017 the Public folder in your Dropbox account has been converted into a standard folder. By default this folder is private to your account. This transition will occur automatically.

Here's what you need to know:

All of the files in your Public folder will remain safe, but public links to those files will stop working
If someone visits a link to a file in your Public folder, they'll see an error page
To see a list of your public links, visit the Public folder—any file in this folder will have previously had a public link associated with it
Dropbox can't convert existing public links into Dropbox shared links
If you'd like to re-share any of the files in your Public folder, please use a shared folder or shared link
Basically dropbox has removed the last reason for me to use them

Basically dropbox currently has public links for shit thats in your public folder, like below:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/956 ... elhaul.png

Using the img tag I can post these directly on the forums, etc.
Image

After the 15th of this month the only links you'll be able to use are these shitty share links

You've mistaken my comment for a defense of Dropbox. Nonetheless Dropbox doesn't force itself into Windows, and company behind is isn't a conglomerate with a history of sketchy anti-privacy practices.

this is sorta off topic

Dear anyone using gyazo: fucking stop, sharex lets you use any image host, is a better program all around, and gyazo images take 3000000 years to load

Btw, how are you getting the https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com links instead of https://www.dropbox.com ones?

ShareX does those automatically, or you can manually change it when you right click copy public link (which is still there)

I meant don't use puush either because it's trash.

Use ShareX with some image uploader, I use dropbox because of the mentioned video capabilities.

Well, even if you can change the link now dropbox has made a business decision to remove that functionality, so don't be surprised if they patch out hot linking

Yes Int, the copy public link option on the context menu is still there and links using the old public links still work, don't they... retard.

Like I said above, just because there's currently a back door work around doesn't mean you'll still be able to hot link in a few months, they can very easily disable that.
