As promised, a video of the event:

The action starts about halfway in.
Is being able to pepperspray security a recent change or what? also did they add that music or is it one of those sounds admins play that don't show up on the player
Hi Caco,
This was my music playing, nl. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NUNrgiDfPq8
If you don't know Aphex Twin, he's had at least 1 top 1 UK billboard song in the early 2000's, I believe with "Didgeridoo".
It's recommendable stuff, one of the uk's forefathers to electronic music many took inspiration from.

I'm always looking for music to add to my space strategy games but it doesnt quite hit with me, I need something faster paced, like Meteor (which is amazing and I forget who kept playing it that I had to ask what it was)

My question is, if the only thing inside that box was an Astolfo plushie, would he still have been banned?

No but that's the precise risk you take when you do something you know could be dangerous. Release a singulo that kills no one and you'll probably get a warning. Release one that kills 10 people and wipes out the station you'll probably get a weekban. Neither of those outcomes are in your control after you trigger them, but they're still a consequence of your negligence.

You have the """right""" to do risky shit but you'll be banned for the consequences of that risky shit if they go wrong. This has been how things work for a decade.

Just a bit of banter honestly, no need to get all stuck up about it. What you're saying here, really is just plain wrong, peanutposting in your own peanut never was an issue, and I don't want it to be one. Now I hope that settles our big dispute here, wouldn't want winding up in a duel to the death with you over something like reading your reg date wrong, which never happened, promise.

It's not that the box should've remained untouched.

It's that it should've been an antag who caused chaos, not a random crewmember.

Why was the box spawned to be openable with a fuckin' crowbar? Not even a loading bar to open it, just a single tap with a crowbar. Spawned into Terry.
The armed seccie with the energy shield sent to defend was essentially pointless if all it takes is a crowbar.

Why is there a maintenance door next to an APC in brig allowing you to hit one door, bash one APC and have no lights access to the armory without anyone seeing? Why hasn't any mapper fixed the flaws in the brig there's so many escape routes?!? Why aren't there turrets attached to the armory wall so it can fend off space invaders? In fact why don't security officers have deathsquad gear and antidrop so assistants can't steal batons? God sometimes it seems like there's some kind of deliberate conspiracy to generate conflict and offer opportunities to antagonists?!?!

Nah probably just coincidence that would be crazy.

Its not worth exposing yourself as an antag for a random thing that you don't even know what it is. The supermatter spiders were supposed to have been super dangerous but they only killed 2 people before getting wiped out.

The guy went overboard trying to get at the crate but it's still common sense that most would interpret an admin-spawned dangercrate as: Hey players, DO NOT open this *wink*

LRP or MRP, that's how I would see it. If it wasn't directly transferred into security's hands, I'd think the admin hopes that I open it and stir up some chaos.

Honestly, it would be better to just send supermatter spiders directly to a xenobiology cell in a locked crate, have a intern sacrifice open it, then wait until someone breaches containment to kill/release them.
Bonus points for making them player-controlled.

The only problem is that the thing sticky sends needs to be something the antagonists know they want or something they know will cripple the station. A random crate that says it will destroy the whole station just dusting the opener and one other guy makes it objectively shit, but we didn't get to see that timeline
