A very good point and one that I think everyone here is now demanding an answer to.why do the numbers matter to you if the end result is person deserving of a ban being getting banned?
Someone with more time than me should run the numbers on bans vs what ruling they were banned under. To see which numbers carry more weight so to speak.

Because obfuscating your ban reason wastes everyone's time; the appealer's time arguing with/against the wrong rules, your time telling them what the actual ban reason is, and the peanut thread's time in being extremely confused.
